Hi Gee, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I started Coco Brooke out of a genuine passion for helping women feel confident and empowered through their clothing choices. Over the years, I noticed that many women struggled to find outfits that truly resonated with their personalities or that made each event memorable by ensuring they felt exceptional. Inspired by the idea of celebrating individuality and style, I embarked on this journey to provide a curated selection of clothing that not only caters to different occasions but also embraces the unique essence of each woman. Seeing the transformation in someone’s demeanor when they find the perfect outfit is what continues to drive and fulfill me every day.

What should our readers know about your business?
Building Coco Brooke to where it is today wasn’t a walk in the park. Despite having an aesthetically pleasing website and beautiful clothes, attracting customers posed a significant challenge. I had to put on my marketing hat and actively convince people that Coco Brooke is the ultimate destination for their fashion experience. It required dedication, adaptability, and a deep understanding of the ever-evolving market.

Overcoming challenges involved a combination of perseverance and strategic thinking. I learned the importance of a strong online presence, effective marketing strategies, and staying attuned to customer preferences. Adaptability was key – I embraced the need for continuous learning and refinement. The journey taught me that starting a business requires a balance of passion and practicality. While passion fuels the journey, having a solid business plan, conducting thorough market research, and staying adaptable are crucial.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
So, if my best friend was in town for a week-long Miami adventure, here’s the plan to make it the absolute best time ever. We’d kick things off exploring all of the cool landmarks in Wynwood, checking out trendy neighborhoods, and catching some live music. Day two is all about diving into Miami’s food scene with a visit to local food markets, a cooking class, and a food tour for a taste of everything. Then, we’d switch it up with a relaxing day—maybe a chill spa session at the Fontainebleau and dinner with a killer view. Day four, we’d soak in arts and culture, hitting up museums and catching a live show. Beach day comes next with some sun, sea, and seafood by the water. For a taste of Miami’s nightlife, day six is all about trendy bars and cool neighborhoods. Finally, we’d wrap up the week with a stylish brunch, a bit more exploring, and a farewell dinner at a restaurant that captures Miami’s vibe.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The person who deserves additional credit and recognition in my story is undoubtedly my late mother, Claudie Telfort. Her unwavering support, belief in my potential, and the love she showered upon me played a pivotal role in shaping my journey. Despite facing the challenges of lupus, she stood by me with faith and determination, leaving a lasting impact on my life.

In honoring her memory, it’s important to acknowledge the strength she instilled in me and how her influence continues to drive my success. My dedication to my achievements since her passing reflects the profound impact she had on my life. By crediting her in my story, I not only pay tribute to her legacy but also emphasize the enduring power of her support in shaping my path to success.
