We had the good fortune of connecting with Geoffrey Pinkney and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Geoffrey, why did you pursue a creative career?
I honestly think it was to just entertain and put a smile on people’s faces. Life is fun but it’s hard. We all have things that keep us mellow and the most popular one I feel is TV and movies.
So at the end of the day I just wanna make people forget about their raging boss at work or there broke down car whether it’s be for 5 mins, 10 mins or whatever.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve always been a bit of a ham(what my Mom and Dad would say) since I was very little. Just doing random, goofy things to make family and friends laugh.
Once I found pro-wrestling, that was it! I went from the Moon to Mars. As I got older I learned screenplay writing and wrote my own little films and tv pilots and in recent years started my own podcast, The Gospel of Pink, and learned music-making/singing so you could say I’m multi-faceted or just hyping myself up too much. Either is fine, I promise.
On this creative journey, Im looking forward to the journey at most if I’m being honest. Everybody always says enjoy the journey so there has to be some truth to that, right.
As for challenges, I’ve had a few. In 2021, I was medically released from the United States Army because I developed Conversion Disorder/Functional Neurological Disorder. It has very much impacted me physically and mentally and made it to where for at least a year and some change I felt I had done a complete 180 in a bad way. I was just at a terrible place mentally until recently and I owe my rescue to family, friends, my girlfriend and of course my love of pro-wrestling and cartoons. Yes, cartoons. Don’t come at me.
I guess if I had a message for my brand it would be:
“Keep ya guard up and keep punching. Even if you get knocked on the ground, keep punching til you get back up then keep on punching.”
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh, man, so I’m from a small town of Warner Robins/Bonaire. I would have to go to either Atlanta or Savannah and link with my old army buddies. They know all the best bars to hop and best places.
I’ve gone out there a couple times but I’m no party animal whatsoever. I’m an extrovert around introverts but an introverts around extroverts.
Probably just go a hotel downtown, go
to some arcades and amusement parks, bar hop and call it a night at 2am.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wanna shoutout to my close family and friends that have talked to me in times where I needed it the most.
Also to my girlfriend, Sarah, she plays a vital part in my daily life as well.
