We had the good fortune of connecting with Gerardo Escalona and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gerardo, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
One of my fundamental principles and core value in my company is “Help First.” I’ve learned that to thrive and succeed in life, it’s essential to be of service to others, generously sharing your successes and failures-what I prefer to call learning situations.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The Profit Recipe is a professional firm dedicated to empowering entrepreneurs and helping them get what they want from their businesses. Our purpose is to change the world one company at a time – we genuinely believe that entrepreneurship can change the world for the better.

We work with business owners who are growth-oriented, open-minded, and eager to scale their businesses while getting better at the same time. The most common challenges our clients face are:
– working long hours and wearing many hats within their companies;
– struggling with accountability across the organization;
– and lacking a clear Vision and a path to achieve it.

In other words, we make our clients fall in love with their business again!

We do this by guiding them through implementing an operating system known as EOS™, tailor-made workshops, and offering a supportive community of over 200 companies with like-minded leaders for experiential learning and open discussions.

Our three uniques that set us apart are:
1- We speak our clients’ language: Our team consists of serial entrepreneurs who understand firsthand the challenges of building a business and have learned what works and doesn’t.
2- We walk the journey with our clients: Our passion is helping them live their passions. We translate ideas into actionable steps with measurable outcomes.
3-We make our clients’ business work for them: EOS™ is a simple, proven process used by 100,000+ companies to align vision, accountability, and team health so you can achieve the results you want.

At The Profit Recipe, we take pride in our success in empowering over 200 companies and doing what we love with people we love.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I have a few favorite go-to spots in Miami:

1- Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables. I love the vibe and timeless charm of this place. If my guest happens to be a golfer, playing at the Biltmore course is a must. On the way to the hotel, I like to take a scenic drive through the picturesque streets of Coconut Grove and Coral Gables, pointing out landmarks like the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, the unique Venetian Pool, and the captivating Mediterranean architecture and parks like the Peacock Park, and enjoy beautiful views of Biscayne Bay. I learned this route from a tour guide we hired while hosting an event for our community and had people flying in from all over the U.S.

2. Miami Beach: There’s a special place in my heart for this city. Now, most people would think it is because of the wild nightlife, parties, and fancy restaurants. Don’t get me wrong that’s what most people like about this place. But my connection to Miami Beach goes way beyond that. Both of my kids were born in Mount Sinai, Miami Beach. Watching sunsets at South Pointe Park while picnicking and holding my kids in my arms is a memory I will cherish forever.

3. Reunion Kitchen Bar: This is my go-to hidden gem for dinner and drinks. Reunion Kitchen Bar in Aventura has a vibrant atmosphere and the best mouthwatering global dishes. But that’s not all – they have a lounge perfect for sipping on handcrafted cocktails before or after dinner. It’s a local favorite of mine.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I firmly believe in the transformative influence of strong external support systems, like coaches, mentors, and peer groups, that can help you grow and evolve personally and professionally. Currently, I have three dedicated coaches for mental toughness, facilitation techniques, and fitness. Additionally, I’m a member of an organization called Strategic Coach.

However, my parents, wife and kids are my major support system.  They have had the most profound impact on my life and entrepreneurial journey. Their love and support to living a purpose-driven life and always doing the right thing have been cornerstones of my life.
