Meet Gerardo Escudero Samara | Author, Entrepreneur, Speaker, Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Gerardo Escudero Samara and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Gerardo, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
It’s a question that touches something deep in me, because for a long time, I didn’t believe balance was even an option.
Moving from country to country as a kid taught me to adapt quickly, but it also meant constant goodbyes to friends, routines, even parts of myself. That shaped the way I approached work later on: as something I had to give my everything to, almost as if I had to prove my worth through effort, through movement, through never stopping.
For years, I poured myself into work without asking what it was costing me. I chased dreams across borders and time zones, always on the go, always building, but forgetting to pause, to feel, to connect deeply.
It’s only recently that I’ve started to redefine what balance means. Not as equal hours for everything, but as being fully present wherever I am. Learning that rest is not weakness. That love, friendship, and stillness matter just as much as vision and drive.
I’m still learning. But these days, I try to make space for joy. For silence. For the people who remind me why I started in the first place.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My career has been more about learning through trial and error than following a straight path. I’ve failed a lot, probably more than people think, but those failures have taught me some of the most valuable lessons in my life.
Over time, I’ve learned to embrace uncertainty, take risks even when I’m scared, and keep showing up with integrity, even when things don’t go as planned. I try to stay curious, listen more than I speak, and surround myself with people who challenge me to grow.
What I can share with your community is this: success isn’t a destination, it’s a daily decision to keep moving forward, to learn from the process, and to build something meaningful, not just impressive. I’m still learning every day, and that’s the part I’ve come to love the most.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
