We had the good fortune of connecting with Gianni Sibilo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gianni, how do you think about risk?
There is no success story without risk. I simply see risk as the following: High risk, high reward and Low risk, low reward. Risk is a crucial factor in determining one’s ability to grow and expand. Risk has played a huge role in my career; as I personally had no restaurant experience prior to getting into my most recent venture Chick’nCone. Long story short, a year and a half into it, my partners and I have opened our second South Florida location; with many more soon to come.

What should our readers know about your business?
Chick’nCone Broward serves fresh hand held waffle cones stuffed with fried chicken, tossed in one of our famous sauces. Chick’nCone has transformed the way people eat and think about traditional chicken and waffles. I am very proud of the enjoyment it brings individuals once they have that first taste of one of our famous items that include the Chick’nCone, Chick’nSandwich and Chick’nBowl! Luckily I was fortunate enough to be mentored by my father; that has helped me become very business savvy. That knowledge has helped me dodge potential growing mistakes one typically goes through when starting a business. No, it was no where near easy; nothing that attains to success is easy. If that was the case, everyone would be successful. I was able to overcome those challenges by having a “just do it” attitude and ability to give up non essential activities that one typically deems necessary. There were many lessons I have learned; but the most important was that experience trumps all. I would like to share that you should always just do it regardless of the opportunity size; there is a staring place at every level, and if one doesn’t another will. This attitude has led me to Chick’nCone; a fun new brand that gets everyone excited no matter age, gender, foodie or non foodie.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My success is definitely attributed to a group of individuals who have allowed me to scale and grow. I can attribute this to my partners and particularly my wife.
