Meet Gina Black | Co-founder and investigator for the Afterlife Allstars Paranormal Team

We had the good fortune of connecting with Gina Black and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Gina, how does your business help the community?
The Afterlife Allstars paranormal team is a group of dedicated investigators with a passion for helping the south Florida community. We work with museums and local venues by hosting paranormal investigation events and we do private investigations for people and businesses in need. The Afterlife Allstars never charges for private investigations in our area. If you need help, we are here for you!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The Afterlife Allstars Paranormal Team is passionate about exploring, experimenting, and helping those in need with the paranormal. Investigators Tim, Gina, Heidi, Alexis, Sasha, Selva, and Rachel have been ghost hunting on their own for years and now together since January 2024. Running a professional paranormal team can be challenging at times, but the rewards are worth it. We get to live out our passion while also making a difference in our community. We host paranormal investigation events that raise funds for museums and local businesses while also teaching interested guests about the field. We typically host investigations quarterly. Anyone interested can visit our website for tickets.
Some lessons we have learned along the way are how to conduct investigations with a variety of experiments, and how to keep a positive attitude when investigating. Some famous teams on TV use provocation to entice spirit activity and we choose the opposite approach by respecting the spirits. Kindness is always key. This has yielded us excellent results with our research and evidence captures. We want the world to know that the paranormal does not need to be taboo topic. We are here to listen and to help!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Our haunted tour of south Florida would include the following locations:
We recommend staying at the historic Hotel Redland in Homestead FL. This property was built in 1904 and has a reputation for being very haunted. The current owners recently renovated the building and uncovered a hidden series of trap doors used in prohibition times. These have now been put on display in the whiskey-den style speakeasy lounge. Make sure to grab a bite and have a cocktail in the City Hall Bistro bar on the first floor.
If you visit Hollywood Beach, stop over at the Twisted Roots Kava Bar. Not only do they have stellar Kava, karaoke nights, and live music, they also have several ghosts too! Say hi to our lead investigator Alexis if you stop by!
A short drive over to Fort Lauderdale will bring you to the History Fort Lauderdale Museum. This property has three haunted buildings to explore. The New River Inn is the city’s oldest hotel. It now features a rotation of artwork made by the artists that occupy the studios on the third floor. Rotating exhibits on the second floor often hold paranormal energy. The old school replica building is just a short walk across the street. This building is home to many spirits who still like to interact with the living. The King-Cromartie house is just beyond the school. It was recently featured on Travel Channel’s Fright Club with Jack Osbourne and the Ghost Brothers on Season 1, Episode 4.
Have a drink at one of the many bars lined up on Himmarshee street. These buildings are known to be very haunted as they were once owned by infamous mobsters and used during the rum-runner speakeasy era.
If you are a fan of English fare, you will love the haunted Blue Anchor Pub in Delray Beach. This unique location came all the way from England by boat. Brick by brick! Not all patrons are of the living as this location is said to be inhabited by a spirit known as Bertha.
We hope you enjoy our paranormal picks!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The Afterlife Allstars Paranormal team is inspired by our Co-founder, fellow investigator, and published author Tim Arnwine. Tim has worked in the field for several years helping our community through his paranormal investigations. His books, “Ghost Hunting Getting Started,” and “Ghost Hunting…Getting Started II: You be the Investigator,” are both geared towards teaching about how to get started in the field of paranormal investigation. His hard work, dedication, and friendly attitude is an inspiration to his colleagues, clients, and community.
