Meet Gina-Marie Bethel | Web Designer and Technology Enthusiast

We had the good fortune of connecting with Gina-Marie Bethel and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Gina-Marie, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Work-life balance can be challenging at different stages in life. When I began my career I felt the need to overly dedicate more time and energy in order to establish myself within the companies I may have been employed with which can lead to an imbalance ; but as I progressed and more aspects of my life demanded more of my attention; I learned to implement simple things to provide me balance in my day to day life. A simple setting of boundaries, prioritizing and even make trade offs in order to be balanced.
To me finding balance is about being self-aware and setting clear and realistic goals for both work and personal life and also be willing to adjust as necessary.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
A Career in Web & Technology can be both inspiring and demmanding. Having attended college with a focus on Graphics & Web Design I have always had an interest in the creative arts and new technology; I never strayed. What I love about my career the most is that there is a constant learning in the field of Web, something changes every other months and you’d want to stay trendy, relevant and able to satisfy the various needs for the various different projects and clients.
What Ive learned along the way is, if done right you would have an incredible impact on businesses with the creation of user friendly, visually appealing websites that can attract and retain customers.
What Id want for persons to know about the day to day operations of Viewtechlive Electronics is that despite the sometimes late nights and technological frustration at times it can also be very rewarding as a career choice and every project will bring new experiences. When my partner and I created Viewtechlive Electronics our goal was to assist the small businessman, provide pricing and product that is affordable and easy to navigate.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would first eat and get a taste of authentic Bahamian Food with a visit to the world famous Fish Fry. We would visit my favorite stall and have what we call in The Bahamas “The Barefoot Bandit” a simple conch salad along with a local beer called Kalik Gold.
We’d then head over to Atlantis Paradise Island to learn a bit about the legends of Atlantis in The Bahamas as well as the exotic ocean life that is on display throughout. While there we would check out another spot serving authentic Bahamian Foods at the Atlantis Resort Called Bimini Road.
I would definitely suggest hopping on a Fast Ferry to visit the island of Exuma where persons can swim with the pigs, feed iguanas as well as have a close encounter with sharks while swimming.
I spent my summers on the island of Bimini so I would encourage her to visit that island also as it rumored to be the home of the Fountain of Youth and a familiar vacation island for American Novelist Ernest Hemmingway who spent his time at the Complete Angler Hotel. That island has such a rich history and has a close proximity to Florida.
I would also share the history of my country by taking her to visit the Clifton Heritage National Park which is actually the remains of a Lucayan village where she would be able to swim, hike, snorkel , bird watch and view the Sacred Space.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Yes! I am nothing without the support of my village both personally and professionally.
My Rotary Club (Rotary Club of Nassau) that has assisted with my personal development in Networking with other like minded professionals , community involvement as well as Cultural Awareness.
My Mother Juania Kim Bethel; my number one cheerleader throughout my entire life’s journey. My Mom has seen my passions and interest grow since I was a child and she helped to nurture all of them as well as promote any item I would have hand made or designed electronically.
My Uncle Ricardo Williamson who has supported and promoted the business since its inception.
My Best Friend Meredith V. Johnson, the woman that I can always depend on to join me in anything that will promote any endeavor I embark upon. Meredith has been my Cashier, Marketing & Sales Agent over the years.
My Partner Tristan Knowles for his industry knowledge, expertise and leadership skills which is a key quality that has helped to drive the growth and success of the business.
