Meet Giovani Guadarrama | Aka Mr. Puddles

We had the good fortune of connecting with Giovani Guadarrama and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Giovani, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
The most important decision that has contributed to my success with out a doubt was to put my mental health first.

I have always been a passionate and hardworking person but unfortunately, my tenacious work ethic slowly fostered anxiety and self doubt which I used to do my job better.

I had recently switched jobs to what I thought was the epitome of my career but found that the high stress and toxicity nurtured my anxiety to an unmanageable level.

I knew the job was bad for me but my current paradigm made me feel trapped and paralyzed to leave.

8 months into the job, I decided to seek treatment. After a few days of meeting with my doctor, my immediate anxiety seemed to calm dow but what I did not expect was that after a few weeks of my treatment, my work situation began to appear blatantly ridiculous and comical.

I found myself repeating “I do not accept this treatment” internally. Finally, one day I found the strength to quit. I had no saving and no plans for the future, but I knew that I would go no further for that company.

After a much needed break, I started Puddle Pieces as a different person. I was not leading with anxiety and fear but rather with a confidence and internal strength that seemed to always be there. With my mind finally free from the paralysis of anxiety, I am able to trek forward knowing that I have everything I need to get to where I want to be.
