We had the good fortune of connecting with Giovanni Roselli and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Giovanni, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk has played a significant role in my life. I have taken many risks over the years, some were unsuccessful and some were extremely successful. That’s the thing about taking risks – you have to be ok with knowing and understanding that sometimes things aren’t going to work out the way you want or imagine – but man is there nothing like it when it does pay off. You have to be willing to take the risk if it’s something you want, and you can’t be afraid of failure. I’d always rather go for it then wonder (and probably regret) what could have been because I was too afraid to take the leap. We’ve probably all heard the famous Wayne Gretzky, “You miss 100% of the shots you never take.” I’ve also learned that the bigger the reward sought after the bigger risk you need to take. I’ve lived my life so that I can look back with no regrets or “what ifs”, and with that comes taking a great deal of risk.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am proud of all my accomplishments that span the businesses of wrestling, acting, and fitness. I feel like I’ve literally lived several lives already. The road certainly has not been easy but no successful journey ever is. I got to where am I today with a combination of perseverance (the most important quality for success in my eyes), focused studying, disciplined work, good networking skills, as well as patience. Patience can be looked at from both sides of the coin, but I feel just like farming, you have to sow your seeds, water, and provide sunlight before your crop can really grow and flourish. When I was young I was told by a lot of people that my dreams were either too big, unrealistic, and just plain crazy. I want the world to know that if you drown out the noise and stay focused and committed, amazing things can happen. The only positive you should take from negative naysayers is the extra motivation it gives you to prove them wrong.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m a big sports fan and live event person, so we’d definitely hit up whatever games and shows we could get to – Dolphins, Heat, and Marlins all have great venues. Also, the Hard Rock Casino are Broward Center for the Performing Arts are two venues that I’ve seen numerous shows from and have enjoyed attending. Of course we’d get in a workout in the morning (maybe on South Beach or at one of my personal favorite gyms, Equinox), a daily healthy farm to table meal, some definite beach time, and also visit some of the best massage therapists in SoFlo!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my daughter Juliet Rose. She is my motivation, inspiration, and my world. Becoming a father will always be my proudest accomplishment.
