Meet Gonzalo Ocon

We had the good fortune of connecting with Gonzalo Ocon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Gonzalo, what is the most important factor behind your success?
For me, the most important factor behind our success has been a mix of perseverance and creativity. Perseverance is what kept me going during uncertain moments, when projects are really challenging or deadlines are too short. It taught me to stay patient and keep refining the vision. And creativity has always been the spark that makes that effort worthwhile. It’s what turns persistence into something inspiring and helps every project feel unique and meaningful. Over time, that combination has paid off, with some of our campaigns being featured on platforms like Ads of the World and BestAdsOnTV.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
For me, advertising has never just been about selling something. It’s about connecting with people through emotion and storytelling. I’ve always seen creativity as a bridge between logic and feeling, and I try to make every idea spark a reaction that makes people stop and feel something.
From the start, I wanted to do things differently, to push boundaries, and to create work that feels authentic and meaningful. It hasn’t always been easy, but every challenge has taught me to trust my instincts and stay patient with the process.
What I’m most proud of is the journey itself, seeing how much I’ve grown, the people I’ve worked with, and how every project has taught me something new. Each collaboration reminds me why I started in the first place, to make creativity meaningful.
What I want people to know about me and about BoldFrameCreative is that we care deeply about what we create. Every project is personal. We believe creativity can make a difference, and that belief keeps me inspired every day.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend came to visit Miami, I’d take them straight to Wynwood. We’d walk around to see the murals, visit a few galleries, and grab lunch at Kyu restaurant.
We’d spend another day at the Pérez Art Museum, checking out contemporary art, and then head to Little Havana for Cuban food, music, and culture. And of course, we’d have to visit Miami Beach, walk along Ocean Drive, admire the Art Deco buildings, and relax by the ocean.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
This is a tough question because I believe we are the sum of all the people we’ve met and the stories we’ve absorbed through books and movies. Every person I’ve met, every conversation I’ve had, and every story I’ve come across has left a mark on me. They’ve all shaped the way I think, the way I create, and the way I see the world.
The people who have influenced me the most are my mom, my family, and former bosses like Marcela Ayub and Sylvia Borge, who believed in me and pushed me to grow both personally and professionally. I’m also grateful to the founder of BoldFrameCreative, who gave me the opportunity to lead and scale the business from the ground up.
I also had the chance to learn how to make great ads from Patricio García and his school, which completely changed the way I approach creativity and storytelling in advertising.
When it comes to books, two that have deeply inspired me are Atomic Habits by James Clear and Start with Why by Simon Sinek.
