We had the good fortune of connecting with Gregg O’Connell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gregg, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I launched GregglesTV inspired by tech giants like MKBHD and Unbox Therapy. Their content sparked your passion for sharing tech knowledge and helping others. I saw a gap between the high-level reviews and the everyday struggles people faced. Leveraging my own experience fixing tech problems for family and friends, I decided to create GregglesTV, a channel focused on relatable tech solutions and clear explanations.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

GregglesTV isn’t just another tech channel. Sure, I deliver daily news, insightful reviews, and helpful how-to guides, but what truly sets me apart is the passion and genuine connection I have with the tech I cover. Inspired by giants like Unbox Therapy, MKBHD, and Austin Evans, I built this channel from the ground up. It wasn’t easy. The learning curve was steep, from mastering video editing to building an audience. But the late nights were worth it. Seeing my community grow, fueled by a shared love of tech, is what I’m most proud of. Every subscriber, every comment, is a reminder that I’m helping people navigate this ever-evolving world. The biggest lesson? Building something meaningful takes dedication and resilience. There will be setbacks, but with hard work and a focus on quality and community, you can turn your passion into something truly special. So, come join GregglesTV – let’s explore the future of tech, together!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, buckle up because I’ve got a week-long itinerary that will show them everything that makes San Diego awesome!

We’ll kick things off with some classic San Diego: beaches and sunshine! La Jolla Shores or Coronado Beach are both perfect spots to soak up the rays, build sandcastles, or just relax with a good book.

After a day at the beach, we’ll head over to Balboa Park on Day 2. This 1,200-acre park is a cultural hub, with over 15 museums like the world-famous San Diego Zoo, botanical gardens, theaters, and stunning Spanish-Renaissance architecture. In the evening, we can explore the historic Gaslamp Quarter, a lively district with Victorian-era buildings, trendy bars, and delicious restaurants.

Day 3 is for the animal lovers! The San Diego Zoo is home to over 3,500 animals representing nearly 650 species, so get ready to see some amazing creatures! Make sure to check out the giant pandas, polar bears, and koalas – they’re crowd favorites for a reason!

Day 4 is all about experiencing a different culture! We’ll take a day trip to Tijuana, Mexico, a vibrant border town with delicious food, unique shopping, and a rich history. Don’t forget to try some fish tacos and explore the local artisan markets for one-of-a-kind souvenirs.

Day 5 will be a day for adventure! We’ll head to Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve for a hike with breathtaking ocean views. The reserve offers trails for all skill levels, so we can find the perfect one to challenge ourselves and enjoy the scenic beauty.

After our hike, we can relax and enjoy the beach again at La Jolla Shores. In the evening, we can grab some delicious seafood right on the pier – the views and the food can’t be beat!

On Day 6, we’ll explore the underwater world by kayaking in the La Jolla Shores Ecological Reserve. The reserve is home to a variety of marine life, including kelp forests, sea lions, and tide pools. It’s a great way to get up close to nature and see San Diego’s marine life in its natural habitat.

Finally, on Day 7, we’ll spend the day at SeaWorld San Diego, a marine mammal park with shows, rides, and animal encounters. SeaWorld is a great place to learn about marine animals and conservation efforts, and it’s a fun way to end an amazing week in San Diego!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Witnessing the engaging tech reviews of YouTubers like Unbox Therapy, MKBHD, and Austin Evans sparked a fire in me. Their in-depth dives, infectious enthusiasm, and connection with the audience made me want to create a similar space. I yearned to share my own tech knowledge and excitement, inspiring viewers with the latest gadgets and fostering a fun tech community on YouTube.
