We had the good fortune of connecting with Gypsy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gypsy, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve been a free spirit since I can remember. I always had a hard time coping with looking a certain way to work for someone else. Working a 9-5 just never felt right to me. I would always feel drained, and unhappy. Now I work 24/7. I make my own rules, work when I want to, how I want. I can be my complete self, and I’m happier than I’ve ever been.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I was in a dark place in my life, and I felt like everything was over for me, but I turned a negative into a positive and that’s how my clothing brand Trippy By Gypsy was made. what sets me apart from others is my authenticity. I don’t want to, nor do I want to be like anyone but my true self. My clothing line is literally a part of me, and I wanted to share that with the world. I am most proud of and excited about continuing to grow in any aspect, being successful, and sharing my success with others. being an Entrepeneur is not easy. From having many ideas, to minimizing them and doing one thing at a time, to always being busy 24/7, to being consistent and by that, I mean even on your worst days. If you do not put in work to what you want, it’s never going to happen!! I’ve learned so many lessons along the way, but the most important ones are loyalty, stay true to yourself always, and treat the ones that have loyalty for you like royalty. another lesson is patience, take things day by day, a little progress is better than none. And Don’t You Ever Give Up!!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh, this is a good one, and I know Shes going to laugh when she sees this. When my best friend and I are together we take that to heart. We be living the life. Every time we reunite, every single time. my best friend is very laid back and chill, and I’m the bougee always want to do something one so it works out perfectly. We would go shopping first for like 3 outfits for one day, plan brunch, activity, dinner, and party. we would plan to go somewhere we’ve never been even if it’s a restaurant, bar, store etc. Then we would always end up in Downtown Orlando for the nightclubs, where all the fun, interesting, exciting people are.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a couple shoutouts but the biggest one Goes to my children, my Lady and Jojo. Because of them I never gave up, I remained motivated, and because of that I’m on a road to success. I want to thank Jody Anette for always believing in me. My best friend Onyx for just being an amazing friend and always supporting me in everything I do. Adorabella, such an amazing talented human being, who has taught me many things. And last but not least I want to shout myself out, I don’t even know how I do it sometimes, but I get things done, and I stay consistent in everything I do.
