Meet Habiba Zock-Sock | Actor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Habiba Zock-Sock and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Habiba, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind the success of my brand has been consistency. I ventured into this career path in 2012 and since then I haven’t stopped or allowed anything to slow me down. I always try to get through whatever stage i find myself in life, believing that time is of the essence.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Being a part of Nollywood has been quite an exciting one. One thing that sets me apart from others is my interest in taking as much acting classes/training that will enable me to stand out. I am proud of having a formal training in acting as opposed to just the basics. I studied Theatre and Performing Arts in the university, and I have a diploma( Acting in Film) from Delyork Creative Academy. I’m presently being Coached by one of the best Acting Coaches Stella Damasus.
I started Acting professionally in the year 2012, and since then I have featured in a couple of films, short films, series, web series and Advert commercials . It hasn’t been a walk in the park, being that I have had to take breaks in between. Thankfully I have been able to stay on track and create a balance with family and career.
One lesson I’d say I have learnt is to keep a positive mind. That even though sometimes it seems like you are stuck and can’t go forward, one has to be determined to take a step that will propel you to greater heights. I want people to see the tenacity i put into my work and appreciate my brand for it is.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m not big on travelling because I’m a couch potatoe 😄. But if I have to take a friend somewhere to have fun I’d say anywhere that breathes serenity and peace. I love my peace and quiet and I enjoy watching movies that makes me laugh or even cry.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Yes, my husband Shehu Zock-Sock.
