Meet Hansi Sanchez | Portrait and Street Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Hansi Sanchez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hansi, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve always wanted to do something creative. I have always been a creative person, whether it be through music or photography, two forms of art I’ve always admired.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m not really sure what sets me apart, I’m constantly learning and feel I still have a long way to go before I can really claim my style.
But I always love finding new techniques when it comes to editing and composition, I try to stray away from getting too close into my comfort zone. Whenever I feel things are starting to become I stale, I start looking for new techniques and other themes I’ve never worked on before.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in Southwest Florida, but I’m familiar with a lot areas in South Florida from Palm Beach County to Miami-Dade. I would say I when it comes to my friends they are adventurous eaters as much as I’am. I would for sure try to take them around “calle ocho”, probably some of the best Nicaraguan and Spanish restaurants. Than some of the areas around the Miami Design District is always cool to explore, especially as a photographer.
Not much of a drinker, but would also love to check out Glitch bar in Fort Lauderdale as a hang out spot since it’s a cool little bar with retro arcade games.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Some of my biggest inspirations in photography to this day are still Peter Mckinnon, Evan Ranft, North Borders, 7th Era and Jordy Marin (actual photography Mentor). They helped me become who I’am today when it comes to my photography.
But I would also my mom has always been a great supporter and one of my biggest heroes.
