We had the good fortune of connecting with Hasmik Vardanyan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hasmik, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
I am the founder and owner of Vardanyan Law Group, LLC. and we work diligently to assist our community members.

As a small law firm, we are proud to have the opportunity to serve immigrant and refugee families in their legal needs, Unfortunately, most of the time we come into people’s lives during their one of the most challenging and hard times – either when they are injured due to no fault of theirs or when they need help to legalize their immigration status. As a proud Armenian-American, I understand that behind every matter there is a person with a life story, and a story so sad and traumatizing that a person decides to leave everything behind and navigate through an extremely dangerous journey for a better future. Moreover, our office fully understands that one accident can change the person’s entire life course and cause extreme hardship, pain and suffering. For these reasons, Vardanyan Law Group is proud to serve the most vulnerable community and hold their hand during the most challenging times. We strive to provide quality legal services while paying individual attention and care to each and every person who contacts us for their legal needs. We are happy to offer two office locations – one in New York and one in New Jersey and be able to serve both states.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
V Law is led by Hasmik Vardanyan – a member of the American Bar Association and Armenian Bar Association. On my lifelong path toward the founding of V Law, I adhered to the principle that a great lawyer knows the argument of the opponent better than the opponent does. We offer expertise backed with profound legal experience from “the other side”. My experience enables me to predict how prosecutors or insurance carriers think, and how immigration cases unfold. During the various phases of my career, I wore these “hats”: I prosecuted cases, defended insurance claims, and wore the shoes of an immigrant.

Upon graduating from Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University with honors, I worked as an Assistant District Attorney in the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office. As a prosecutor, I handled various violent and non-violent misdemeanors and felony cases from inception to disposition. Later, I transitioned into civil litigation where I focused on liability claims, construction accidents and catastrophic injuries. The ability to analyze cases from both sides allows me to provide zealous representation to our clients through prediction and proactiveness.

Lastly, I walked the difficult path of an immigrant when I came to the United States of America to pursue my aspirations. While in Law School,I worked at the Immigration Justice Clinic and Empire Justice Center on various immigration matters. Upon graduation, I proceeded to represent members of the community Pro Bono assisting them to navigate through our complex immigration laws. Helping others to attain their American Dream has been the driving force that inspired a once seventeen-year-old immigrant to open the doors of her own Law Firm, V Law.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

I love spending time with my friends in NYC. NYC has a very active and energizing vibe that inspires everyone to dream big. It is true that once you have lived in New York and made it your home, no place is good enough.

If I had my best friend here in NY for one day, I would start with having a quick run/biking around the Central Park and then continue the time in the Central Park with a picnic. I would certainly go to one of the amazing  Broadway Shows and afterwards would stop by Petrossian Boutique & Cafe to grab some Armenian snacks. In the evening, I would most likely go to Brooklyn Bridge for a lovely walk and end the night with some good Comedy Show or Jazz night.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

Shout out to an AMAZING ATTORNEY Nicole DiGiacomo who started her own practice a year ago and inspired many others to follow her journey. Her info is:
