We had the good fortune of connecting with Haydn Hayz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Haydn, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I was a model for a few years. That career was not fulfilling to me because I felt as though I had something to say. I wanted a career that allowed me to express myself freely. Music gave me the ability to paint a picture in a way that was exciting.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Everyone has a gift so what sets us all apart from each other is the ability to identify exactly what that is. What I bring to the table as an artist is to be determined by the people not me. It has been a long journey and will continue to be because my goal is longevity. It hasn’t been easy because working with other people always makes room for uncertainty so there has been a lot of disappointment. At the same time what keeps me going is the fact that for every disappointment is a win! I’ve learned to trust the process and it’s much easier said than done. I’m in a constant battle with myself mentally every day since I’m my biggest critic. I want the world to know that my brand represents who I am as a person. I love music and just creative expression all together. Speaking confidence into my listeners is my biggest goal every time I write a song.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would start by taking them to the beach. Being from Florida the beach is one of our most popular places that we are well known for. Then I would go to Brickell to go shopping downtown, I would take them to Hiro to eat sushi, and then stop at the guitar hotel since it’s one of the most popular tourist attractions.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Every and anyone who has supported my journey. From the very beginning everyone’s effort has mattered. Every dj, classmate, family member, and stranger who has supported my music in anyway deserves a shoutout. Thank you so much !
