We had the good fortune of connecting with Hazél Mulan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hazél, what’s your definition for success?
I define success by working hard towards something bigger than yourself, success to me is being able to support your family , success is having the hard conversations to become better , success is having a love and drive for something so fulfilling in your soul that you stop at nothing until you feel it every day , success is performing for thousands of people and giving them an alternate universe to escape to, success is making yourself proud and doing the best you can while here on this earth , to leave your mark, make a difference and an impact .   

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from others is easy we are all created uniquely & I feel my culture, my upbringing, my city made me different but still relatable.

I’m most proud of growth & constantly evolving , every day I learn new things about myself & discovering new abilities in my voice.

I’m excited about my future because I’ve been building solid relationships & foundations to sustain one with longevity.

I got to where I am by working hard and never giving up , yes I failed 1000 Xs but it only made me better. It’s never easy but it key it making it look easy.

Overcoming challenges is all about testing yourself & sometimes you will fail but I always been the type of person to see the glass half full, as long you have breath in your lungs nothing is impossible.

Life lesson for this year is “let it fly” don’t hold back , get out of your own way & your own head.

I want the world to know that I’m still a human being who happens to make music , I want them to know I want world peace & want to give love & love only , my main job here is to heal people.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First place we are going is to the grocery store so I can cook a fire vegan meal :P. Then we would grab some wine & talk to each other for hours about life, watch sex & the city , have a mini photo shoot & make s’mores lol I’m a simple girl .

If all of this occurred in marine county San Francisco area or San Juan Puerto Rico or Bahamas that would be such a safe haven , then we can go to Napa valley to see the vineyard for some nature vibes , bioluminescence bay in Puerto’s Rico for a swim & Bahamas for some Johnny cake.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to pay homage to all the artist & musicians before me who paved the way for my sound to exist. So many have subconsciously influenced & created the artist I am today.

My puppy Miraclé is the light of my world she keeps my spirits high , she keeps me focused on the bigger picture & the grind . I owe her all the love because she is always by my side through the good & bad.

God , My family & Team keep me on the right path & i’m forever grateful for every one involved in my journey.
