We had the good fortune of connecting with Heather and Eric Elliott and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Heather and Eric, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
We like to think of Bounce Bright as a true story about bouncing back. For as long as we can remember, we have wanted to start our own business but never had the courage to pull the trigger. After experiencing a great deal of loss this past year, we found ourselves realizing more than ever just how short life really is and chose to channel our grief into chasing our dreams. Bounce Bright has been a creative outlet for our family to heal and bounce back from a truly difficult time in our lives and, regardless of our success, we will always be so grateful for that. We intentionally developed our colorful and cheerful branding to capture the fun and joy that we wanted to inspire in our lives and the lives of others!
It almost goes without saying, but this business was also inspired by our children. Becoming parents has allowed us to reconnect with being playful, fun, and creative and has certainly cultivated a whole new perspective when it comes to what really matters in life: being with the people you love and enjoying the crap out of them! One of the best parts about Bounce Bright is being able to regularly involve our kids. Even though this business is hard work, we love that our children get to hang out with us while we clean and/or prep for events. They have become our chief supervisors for quality and fun! And we definitely went up a few points in the cool department starting a bounce house biz because, let’s be real, what kid doesn’t love a bounce house?
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As passionate as we are about good vibes and having fun, we are just as focused on quality and safety! This might sound super nerdy but safety is our number one priority and it’s a part of everything we do. We are safe certified for staking and anchoring, fully insured, and approved vendors in multiple counties. Along with being safety nerds, we also like to think of ourselves as party innovators! We are always trying to come up with new ideas and services to offer our clients to create unique and memorable experiences. For example, our latest Bubble House is the first of its kind in South Florida and our clients are loving it!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We love coffee so we would definitely make sure to hit Panther Coffee! We used to think their coffee was just a hipster fad until we finally tried the Columbian Mejor and realized it’s the real deal. And we love to eat; we literally went to New Orleans for our honeymoon just to do that! So we would make sure to visit a few of our favorite spots for lunch/dinner like Coyo Tacos, Kush Burger, or pretty much any restaurant in Little Havana followed by dessert (not optional). If the kids are with us, we would probably opt for something outdoors like the Miami Zoo, Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, or take a stroll around Wynwood. And if they’re not, then we’d likely check out some live music or a comedy show. Oh, and we almost forgot about beer. Gotta squeeze that in somewhere too!
