We had the good fortune of connecting with Helena Castro and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Helena, what do you attribute your success to?
My journey with Carioca Life is all about making a real impact on people’s lives. It’s not just about business numbers, it’s about the genuine difference we make in our customers’ daily experiences.

I measure our success by the smiles we bring to our clients’ faces and the boost in self-confidence they gain from wearing our products. It’s not just about selling swimwear, it’s about helping women feel great about themselves, perhaps even in ways they might not have expected.

Throughout these past months in this business, I’ve come to realize that fashion is more than just clothes, it’s a tool for self-expression. It’s about finding your unique style and feeling fantastic while doing it. What makes me incredibly proud is the way our brand has managed to connect with our customers on this deeper, more personal level.

My primary mission is to demonstrate to every woman that they’re beautiful just as they are. There’s no need to alter who they are. It’s all about embracing your unique qualities, loving yourself for who you are, and feeling comfortable in your own skin.

I can say that my success is a result of the joy, self-confidence and self-love that we bring to our customers. It’s all about the idea that every person, no matter their shape, size, or background, should feel wonderful about themselves. This belief drives me every single day to do what I do.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Running a business while being a mother to three young children has certainly been a challenging journey, but it’s one I’m incredibly proud of. My primary goal has always been to empower women and help them rediscover their self-love. What sets ‘Carioca Life’ apart is our commitment to authenticity. We don’t just focus on pushing sales; we aim to create an experience where our clients look in the mirror and genuinely love what they see. Our brand adds that touch of elegance that enhances their self-confidence.
The path to where we are today has been far from easy. Balancing motherhood and entrepreneurship is a constant juggling act. Overcoming these challenges has required determination and a strong support system. I’ve learned invaluable lessons about time management, resilience, and the importance of self-care along the way.
Ultimately, I want the world to know that ‘Carioca Life’ is more than just a brand; it’s a movement towards self-empowerment and self-love. We’re here to inspire women to embrace their true selves and feel confident in their own skin.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
On the first day of my vacation, I’d unwind with my family at home, enjoying a poolside Brazilian barbecue and catching up with friends. My kids share my love for hosting, so we’d have a blast.

Next, I’d drive to Palm Beach, making a pitstop in Delray to stroll along Atlantic Avenue. In Palm Beach, I’d cruise by the impressive mansions, rent bikes for a scenic canal-side picnic, explore Rosemary Square, and cap off the day at the HR rooftop restaurant.

In Boca Raton, I’d start my day early at the beach to witness a breathtaking sunrise and soak in some positive energy. Then, I’d head to the YMCA for a workout and a class. A walk around Mizner Park, with its vibrant atmosphere, is a must. My self-care session at LUV Beauty and Spa, featuring a massage by Adriana and a hair makeover by Mari, would be a delightful girls’ time. To end the day, a dinner at Corvina Seafood Restaurant, known for its fresh shrimp, lobster, and seafood tower, in a unique atmosphere.

A short drive to the Keys for one or two days would follow, exploring new beaches and scenic spots. On the way back, a day in Miami Beach, visiting the fashion district and the artsy Wynwood Walls and maybe getting a new tattoo for a touch of adventure.

I’d also look for a concert at FLA Stadium or the Hard Rock Casino and plan a trip to the Everglades on an airboat to spot some wildlife, including alligators, and visit the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center. I believe my friend would have an amazing time with this itinerary

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate this story to my amazing family. To my husband, Pavel, and our sons, Francisco, Valentin, and Alexander – your love keeps me going.

A big thank you to my mom, Marli, my sister, Cecilia, and my niece, Gabriela. You were there when ‘Carioca Life’ was just a dream.

And a special mention to ‘Cafe com Mulheres’ for supporting me as an immigrant woman. This one’s for all of you who’ve made my journey special.
