We had the good fortune of connecting with House Of Fete Marissa + Kelsey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi House Of Fete, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
We had starting styling and conceptualizing parties together and knew we had something special, so we turned it into a business.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
House Of Fete specializes in Event Design, Party Planning and Set Curation. Color and Creativity sets us apart from others in the industry, we aren’t afraid to think outside the box, do something differently and always add color. We are always excited to be able to create without boundaries and produce what we love. We are always proud of the work that gets published and recognized by other creatives in the field. Starting your own business is never easy, but between the two of us our backgrounds instilled a work ethic. and knowledge that prepared us for what was to come. We overcome challenges every day, problem solving is the heart of party planning. We have learned to have clear expectations when working with other businesses and clients. Always have a contract, and hire out when can (i.e. get you a lawyer and a CPA).

In everything we do, our goal is always to create something unexpected, different and whimsical. We focus on each and every detail that will fill your soul with magic. We always use our past experiences and channel then through our brand. Everything we do in intensional.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
House Of Fete spans from Northern California down to the Central Valley. We have styled events almost everywhere in between. Some four favorite activities and places are…

The Venetian Hotel in Capitola
Rainbow Walk in the Castro District
Go to a 49ers and Giants game
Wine Tasting in Napa
Fresno Zoo
The Aquarium in Monterey
Dining and Stay in Half Moon Bay

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
As we began our journey as House of Fete we knew we needed a village to build our portfolio and showcase our Ideas. Its was the vendors, small shops, and photographers that helped us bring our ideas to fruition.
