We had the good fortune of connecting with Igor Mosoreti and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Igor, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Ever since I can remember, the allure of the sea and the elegance of yachts have captivated me. This deep-rooted passion steered me toward the yacht industry, a field I longed to be a part of. Yet, my journey wasn’t straightforward. I quickly realized that finding opportunities in this specialized industry was more challenging than I had anticipated. Despite this, my determination never wavered.

Starting at the Hi-Lift Marina in Aventura, FL, and working across four different marinas, I embraced every role with enthusiasm, from meticulously washing boats to skillfully operating heavy machinery for launching vessels. Each position was more than a job; it was a step closer to understanding the heart of this industry. My passion didn’t stop there; on my days off, I dedicated myself to being a boat detailer and also took on roles as a captain for private vessels. These experiences deepened my connection to the industry and broadened my understanding of its various facets.

The more I learned and the more connections I made, the more I realized how fragmented job resources were in this niche market. This was a sentiment echoed by many of my peers. This shared frustration sparked an idea that gradually took shape over time. Four years ago, I decided to turn this idea into reality with WorkOnYacht. Drawing from my experiences and the challenges I faced, my goal was to create a platform that wasn’t just easy to use, but one that resonated with the specific needs of the US yacht industry. A job board where people like me, who started with a dream and a love for the sea, could easily find their place and grow their careers.

WorkOnYacht.com is the embodiment of my journey and aspirations. It’s a hub that connects Job Seekers and Employers in the US yachting community, simplifying the search process and fostering connections. It’s more than a platform; it’s a community builder, a bridge that links passion with opportunity in the dynamic world of yachting.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
WorkOnYacht is not just a job board; it’s a dedicated portal for the US yacht industry, distinguishing itself by its specialized focus. We cater specifically to this niche, offering tailored opportunities that you won’t find on general job platforms. This dedication to the yachting community sets us apart and is something I take great pride in.

The most exhilarating aspect of running WorkOnYacht is seeing the direct impact it has on people’s lives – connecting them with their dream jobs in the industry. This is what excites me every day: being a part of someone’s journey in achieving their career aspirations.

Arriving at this point was far from easy. The initial challenge was creating a platform that was both intuitive and comprehensive, specifically for the yacht industry. Through trial and error, continuous feedback from users, and a deep dive into the nuances of the industry, we were able to refine and perfect our services.

The major lessons learned along the way include the value of perseverance and the importance of community feedback. These insights have been pivotal in shaping the business and ensuring that we stay relevant and valuable to our users.

What I want the world to know about WorkOnYacht.com is that it’s more than a job board – it’s a reflection of a lifelong passion for the sea and a commitment to the yachting community. Our story is one of connecting people with opportunities, fostering professional growth, and nurturing a sense of belonging within the Yachting World.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting, I’d take them on a tour that captures the essence of South Florida. We’d start with the laid-back charm of the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk in Hollywood, FL, enjoying the coastal ambiance. Then, we’d head to Miami’s Wynwood Design District to immerse ourselves in its vibrant street art and creative energy.

A highlight of our trip would be a yacht cruise around Downtown Miami and Monument Island. It’s a fantastic way to experience the city from a different perspective and see the stunning skyline from the water.

We’d also spend time in the Miami Bayfront area, enjoying the scenic views, and exploring Downtown Miami’s bustling streets. Along the way, we’d indulge in the diverse culinary delights that South Florida is famous for, ensuring a mix of relaxation, exploration, and unforgettable experiences.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
In my journey, the teams at the marinas where I worked, especially at Hi-Lift Marina in Aventura, FL, deserve a huge shoutout. Their hands-on support and camaraderie were invaluable in shaping my skills and perspective.

Equally, I owe much to the broader yacht community. Their stories and challenges inspired the creation of Work on Yacht. And of course, my family and close friends, whose unwavering belief and encouragement were my steadfast support. They all played crucial roles in my story and in the realization of WorkOnYacht.
