We had the good fortune of connecting with Ilya Levin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ilya, what is the most important factor behind your success?
While there are many factors that impact whether my business will flourish or fail, I believe that the leading cause of its success is my passion for the dogs. Seeing their behavior change while creating incredibly strong bonds with their owners has always been what motivates me. I feel that this, among other aspects, is what will make me succeed in this industry.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
One thing that definitely sets my business apart from other Dog Training companies Is that every training program is customized to the needs of the dog and their owners. I recognize that different owners have different priorities regarding their dogs behavior and obedience, and I listen to that and respect that in their training programs. I also make sure that the owners are heavily involved in the training process, not only so they see how I work but I also find it key to the success of their dog.
A lesson I learned along the way is to trust myself and have confidence in my art. While I have run into challenges, I found that the best way to move forward is to humble myself and learn from the mistakes. Once I do that, I know I will succeed.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love my food and so do my friends so we would definitely eat our way through Miami in order to show them around. Hitting up KYU and Buya in Wynwood in addition to seeing the street art and great shops and stopping by Hutong when we go to Brickell. After taking the dogs to the beach we would have to stop by Bodega for some burritos. If we have a whole week we would need to spend a morning in midtown after getting brunch at Little Hen. Finally, on a lazy Sunday walking around where I live in Coral Gables, the Giralda strip is great for a late lunch watching the game at any of the sports bars along there.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would definitely like to thank my parents for always supporting me in my aspirations. From changing degrees multiple times, to working in various fields, to realizing that my calling is Dog Training, they have always been at my side. I would also like to shoutout my partner for guiding and supporting me throughout this whole process. Lastly I’d like to mention my first clients, who without their trust I would certainly have not developed into the trainer I am today.
