We had the good fortune of connecting with Ipek Gray and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ipek, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I’m originally from Turkey, raised by a single mom who ran her own private clinic but spent every spare moment working on something few understood—using math, physics, and pattern recognition to decode life. Her decades of research, including over 60,000 hours of 1:1 analysis, evolved into a patented system in Turkey called The Mathematical System of Life.

During my formative years, she would share her findings with me, and we’d apply them to real-life questions—school decisions, friendships, even tough moments. I learned early on that data isn’t just something you track—it’s something you can trust to guide you.

At 17, I moved to the U.S. to attend Connecticut College, then went on to earn my Master’s in Economics from Columbia University. I built a career in education and social impact, leading over $8M in investments and helping scale tools that reached more than 2 million students. I was honored to be named a Forbes 30 Under 30 in Education, but what’s always stayed with me is this: meaningful change starts with personal insight.

Now, as a mother of two raising my family in Miami, I’ve returned to those early roots. I left a stable career to grow The Born Method full-time—a modern, accessible evolution of my mother’s system. It’s where data meets ancient wisdom, helping founders, parents, and professionals make clear, confident decisions in life, love, and business.

What should our readers know about your business?
The Born Method is a modern guidance system that uses a unique blend of data, math, and ancient wisdom to help people make confident decisions in life, love, and business. It’s based on a patented system developed by my mother over 25 years ago in Turkey—rooted in 60,000+ hours of research and 1:1 analysis.

What sets it apart is that it’s not astrology, numerology, or coaching as usual. I use your birth date to unlock a 20-digit matrix unique to you. That matrix reveals patterns—how you communicate, lead, love, and grow. I then give you clear, personalized insights you can act on right away. My clients include parents navigating school choices, founders launching businesses, and professionals managing teams and career pivots.

What I’m most proud of is that people leave sessions feeling understood—and more capable of making aligned, strategic moves. It’s clarity that cuts through the noise.

Getting here wasn’t easy. Leaving a stable career in education and social impact to build something most people didn’t initially understand felt risky. But I believed in it. And I saw the results—not just in my life, but in every client who came out of a session saying, “I wish I had this years ago.”

The biggest lesson? Don’t wait for the world to validate your work before you share it. Build something real, let it help people, and trust that the right audience will find you.

If there’s one thing I want people to know, it’s this: everyone has access to clarity. You just need the right tools to decode it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My family and I moved to Miami two years ago after 10+ years in New York. A perfect Miami day includes all the things I’ve come to love most here: sunshine, amazing food, lush greens, and space to slow down.

We’d start with pastries from Caracas Bakery, then walk through Coconut Grove—the sidewalks shaded by banyan trees never get old. I’d take them to Fairchild Tropical Garden for a dose of Miami’s tropical magic, then swing by one of our favorite playgrounds like Salvadore, or Peacock Park—each one a gem if you’ve got kids in tow.

For brunch, it’s The Standard Lido by the water. And for casual, kid-friendly dinners, our go-to spots are Glass & Vine, Bar Taco, and Monty’s—great food, relaxed vibe, and room for the little ones to roam.

Weekend mornings usually start at the Coconut Grove farmers market, followed by a spontaneous trip to Matheson Hammock Park or Key Biscayne for a beach picnic and calm water play.

Miami has a rhythm—energizing but never overwhelming. It’s a place where the days feel full, but not rushed. That’s what I’d want my best friend to experience while they’re here.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m deeply grateful to the women who supported me in real, tangible ways as I built this work. Marika Frumes, founder of Mysha Pods, believed in The Born Method from day one and shared it wholeheartedly with her community. Elisa Marshall welcomed me into the beautiful space she created at Maman, giving me the chance to introduce this work to thoughtful moms.

Brooke Mullen, the founder of Sapahn and Rebecca Schwartz, founder of Mamala Organics, have been true founder friends—encouraging and uplifting this journey at every step. And Jamie Kolnick of Jam with Jamie brought The Born Method into such a special space—her milestone birthday—gifting it to her closest friends and helping more moms experience the power of this work.

And finally, my clients. Every person who’s shared their birth date, their goals, and their questions with me. This work only matters because of their trust—and the change they’re willing to make when things start to click.
