We had the good fortune of connecting with Isabel Bucaram and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Isabel, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
After years of working in media and navigating Corporate America- first at Spanish Broadcasting System (SBS) and later at CNN- CNN en Español—I realized that the real power behind every opportunity I’d ever had came down to one thing: connection. I’ve always been passionate about storytelling, elevating voices, and building bridges between cultures and industries. But I wanted to do it on my own terms.

Starting PerfectLink Media was a natural evolution. I saw a gap in the market for a multicultural, purpose-driven agency that could combine strategy, visibility, and authentic connection. I wanted to create a space where talent, brands, and causes could come together and thrive—where global messaging meets cultural relevance. My thought process wasn’t just about building a business; it was about building a hub of intention, a platform to link people, brands and stories with impact.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My career has been anything but linear—and that’s exactly what has shaped me.

I started in media working at Spanish Broadcasting System (SBS), where I led communications for TV, radio, and entertainment platforms. That experience gave me direct access to the power of messaging, audience connection, and the importance of elevating culture. From there, I moved to CNN en Español, where I spent over a decade as a leader in production planning and VIP strategy—working with global figures, storytellers, and creatives across Latin America and beyond.

What sets me apart is my ability to connect with purpose., my global network is an asset. I’ve learned how to build bridges between people, industries, and ideas—not just to promote, but to create meaningful impact. I don’t just run a business; I activate ecosystems of collaboration, especially in multicultural spaces. I bring media intelligence, emotional intelligence, and a global lens to every project I lead.

Starting my own company, PerfectLink Media, was a leap of faith. It wasn’t easy—there were moments of fear, uncertainty, and reinvention. But I’ve learned that discomfort is often the birthplace of something great. The biggest lesson? You have to believe in your story before you expect anyone else to. You have to invest in yourself with the same passion you give to others.

What I want the world to know is that your voice matters. Your story matters. And it’s never too late to bet on yourself. At PerfectLink, we don’t just help brands grow—we help people connect with who they truly are, and with the communities that need them most.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting Miami for a week, I’d make sure they experienced the soul, flavor, and rhythm of this city the way I see it—through connection, beauty, and of course, incredible food.

We’d start the trip with dinner at Novikov, one of my favorite upscale spots for amazing Asian cuisine and energy that matches the city’s pulse. We’d follow it with a relaxed walk through Brickell City Centre for a little night vibe and conversation.

During the week, I’d definitely take them to Coconut Grove—it’s one of Miami’s oldest neighborhoods and still has this magical, bohemian charm. We’d grab brunch at Greenstreet Café or Bellini at Mr. C, with its beautiful rooftop views. In the evenings, we’d go for drinks and music in Coral Gables, where there’s always something elegant and fun happening.

I’d also spend a full day in Key Biscayne—I love its peaceful beaches and that sense of escape without really leaving the city. And of course, we’d explore the beaches all along the coast, from South Pointe to Bal Harbour, depending on whether we want people-watching or pure relaxation.

One of my favorite personal rituals is spending time at Riviera Country Club—it truly feels like home. It’s where I recharge, move my body, and connect with people in a space that’s both inspiring and grounding—so I’d definitely bring my friend there for a wellness and leisure day.

And finally, no trip would be complete without a visit to The Redland and Cauley Square. It’s a hidden gem—full of history, small shops, art, and nature. It’s the kind of place where time slows down, and connection feels real.

Miami is more than beaches and nightlife—it’s full of layers, culture, elegance, and surprises. That’s the Miami I love sharing.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Without a doubt, I wouldn’t be where I am today without the love, guidance, and presence of the people who have walked with me—whether near or far, in spirit or in life.

I want to dedicate this shoutout to my children, Isabella and Francisco Andrés Montana. They are my greatest source of inspiration and the reason I lead with love in everything I do.

I’m deeply grateful to my life coach and dear friend, Verónica Vidal, whose program “Aiming for Love” has been transformative. She taught me that everything in life begins with how we love and care for ourselves—and that truth has become the foundation of how I lead and live.

To my closest lifelong friends in Ecuador, to my siblings María and Juan Carlos, to my beloved friends ad PerfectLinks: Ida Sánchez, Estela Serrano, Jose Bandes, Omar Murcia, Claudia Ugarte, Cindy Pereira,; and to all my chosen family across different countries—you are part of my story, my strength, and my heart.

I’m also inspired by my dear friend Ismael Cala, who has built a powerful platform and personal brand rooted in communication, mindfulness, and purpose. His path reminds me that it’s possible to lead with vision and heart, and still build an empire.

Among the many books and tools that have guided me, The 10% Entrepreneur by Patrick J. McGinnis gave me the mindset to start investing in my own dream while still honoring other responsibilities. I’ve also immersed myself in learning about the power of the mind to support this journey—exploring systems like the Silva Method and the teachings of Vishen Lakhiani through Mindvalley. These resources have helped me reprogram limiting beliefs and lead with clarity and confidence as the owner of my own company.
