We had the good fortune of connecting with Isaiah Bien-Aime and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Isaiah, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
Habits that I possess that play a very important role in my life is the fact that I wake up everyday with the mindset that I’ll get something accomplished that day and I make sure to write them down in either a notepad/notebook so that way it’s easier to remember which tasks I have to complete, whether it be writing down lyrics for a song, laying down some drums/melodies for a beat that i’m making at the moment or watching youtube tutorials. I feel like doing these things help keep me grounded and motivated to reach my full potential and my ultimate goal. Another habit I have that’s really important to me is reciting affirmations to myself and even writing some down on my notepad and hanging them up on my mirror or laptop. It serves as a good way to start my day and it helps me to really keep my head in the game while I get stuff done. I feel like affirmations in general really lift my mood up and I consider it a form of self-care for me personally due to its positive impact on my mental health.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What really sets me apart from others is my perseverance and resilience. There’s a lot of small artists and musicians out there that give up way too easily because they don’t see results immediately, I know I would be lying too if I said that thoughts about quitting and giving up never peeked in the back of mind especially when I was just starting out on my journey, but what helped me shake those thoughts was realizing that almost every single person that has been in my position had those thoughts before but their mental was sharp enough to not let them succumb to those thoughts and feelings and they were able to push through all of the doubt and hate coming from others or even their own mind, and make something out of themselves. I use this thought process as a daily reminder to keep going and never give up on my dreams and eventually their bound to become my reality. I’d say that this is the reason why I’m at where I am today from a professional standpoint and it’s definitely not an easy journey.
In 2024 I look to continue on the expansion of my brand and artistry and getting out of comfort zone musically and physically. I am most proud of myself for not letting my mental health or any type of negativity affect me to the point where I give up on myself or my art. My brand is primarily focused on pushing boundaries within my scene/community and being able to express myself even though people sometimes might not understand me or what I’m trying to accomplish.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d refer them to a place like Miami Beach or Brickell City Centre. Miami Beach has, in my opinion, some of the best dining and scenery that the city has to offer. You can easily go there and enjoy your favorite meal at your favorite restaurant and walk around and observe all of the beautiful and unique looking hotels while taking in the beautiful weather of Miami, not to mention the amazing nightclub scene of South Beach if their a frequent clubgoer. Brickell City Centre is one of the more family-friendly spots of Miami. Brickell City Centre features many upscale shopping brands such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Richard Millie, Kirk Jewelers, etc and various dining and entertainment options with the CMX Cinema. Those two places I’d most definitely recommend for a first time visitor of Miami and I guarantee they’d have a fun time and want to come back.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate this article to all of my friends and supporters. I am very grateful to have them by my side and pushing me to be the best person and musician that I can be. I really don’t know where I’ll be without them to be honest.
