We had the good fortune of connecting with Jahnecia Colebrook and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jahnecia, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
My overall end goal is to create a household name, brand and legacy for the generation that I create. In addition to adding to our community, creating job opportunities, room for artistic growth for creatives, and creating non profit organizations catering to women, children and substance abuse. I would like my company to not only satisfy consumers from a fashion standpoint but also, we would like to expand to the homegood and hospitality industry, eventually investing in a number of realestate properties; especially hotels. Currently, we have one investment rental property that is available for short term leasing, and we call her “Thee Pink Place”.
By the end of my career, accomplishing a number of accolades through a single company simply for following through with my personal pursuits, dreams and interest alone would be satisfying. But, financially I would like to and will be a self proclaimed billionaire through the many avenues that we will create overtime.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets Champagne & runway Galleria apart from others is our willingness to expand, offer different services and truly care about the way our clients/ customers feel in regard to cutomer service and satisfaction.
Resilience would be our number 1 reason for where we are today. The drive to continue to press forward as a business, stay innovative and fersh even through things as tragic as covid- 19 and what seems to currently be a slight introduction of a recession.
I would say the road has been interestingly satisfying to say the least, but far from easy. Everyday, as a business owner/ visionary you learn something new or experience a new obstacle. I’d say that overcoming challenges is understanding that as a CEO you have to be swift, proactive- always open to change and new ideas.
Lessons that I have learned along the way would definitely be patience, resilience and confidence in your vision.
Most importantly, what I would like the world to know about my brand and story is that “I don’t miss”! I’m eager, always hungry and that I never stopped dreaming.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
For starters I would take my friend to view some Art; visit one of the many unique museums in Miami or art galleries in Wynwood. We would then have breakfast, brunch lunch and dinner on select days (im a BIG foodie) at some of the local AND upscale restaurants located in Miami *there are soo many to choose from.
We would Have to- Have do some self care activities and upkeep like hair, nails and makeup for sure!
We’d also do some water activities like renting a yacht, jet skis or paraceling. Or maybe do something more relaxing like sun bathing in this “Miami heat” on the beach for the aesthetics!
Before the trip is over we would definitely have to experience shopping in Mid Towns fashion district or Bal harbor shops, of course pairing our purchases with some Champagne & Runway Galleria garments.
The night scene at least ONCE is a must, okay maybe twice; one gentleman’s club (Miami culture) and somewhere more highend like LIV Miami or Mr. Jones.
Everywhere in Miami is literally exciting and a fun experience, I must say. The city is lively, sexy, fast and never sleeps.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Through the highs, lows, confusion, uncertainty, and excitement; I’d like to thank God. Being an entreprenuer is one of the most difficult tasks that I have ever been up against but through it all God has given me the confidence, willpower and grit to follow through when most could not or would not; and for that I am thankful.
Then, of course I would like to thank my mother; she is where (by birthright) I have gained my stamina and hustle.
Moving forward; there are a number of supportive friends, family and life experiences that I just have to be appreciative for. This has kept me motivated throughout my career as a business owner/ creative.
I know it is cliche’, but one of the books that I seem to compare my life to the most is The Alchemist; if you’ve read the book its pretty self explanatory (which was gifted to me by a late dear frind of mine), and if you havent; well, you should.
