Meet Jai Renegade | Rapper

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jai Renegade and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jai, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I feel like taking risk is very much necessary. I try to take my time when making decisions on how I want to approach things. I weigh risk vs reward basically. In life I’m willing to take risks depending on what I’m risking and what i stand to gain. I’ll never risk my freedom but I definitely feel like you can’t get ahead in life without risking something. In my music career risk are unavoidable. Simply because every new song is risking someone bashing you as an artist. I personally take whatever risks when I create songs. I have some people upset before just because they think or even know a certain song may reference them lol. I feel like to be a true artist I must risk hurting feelings or even exposing my own feelings through my music. I personally try not to portray anything I’m not but sometimes you have to risk how people view you to put your all in the song. I’ve had to audition before and perform on stage in room full of strangers. Be willing to take risks has been good for me in life and my career. You can’t succeed in anything without risking failure.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is my music. What I’m most proud of is how much more comfortable I am recording and performing now. I’m excited for everyone to hear my new music. It definitely hasn’t been easy for me getting to this point I have met a lot of new people and artists. The main challenges I face are making time, staying consistent and learning new styles and approaches to creating. I am also proud of how versatile I’ve become and different vibes I can provide through my music. I’ve learned many lessons. I learned a lot more about recording and getting performances and music exposure. I learned a lot about how important exposure, releasing music and networking is. I plan to use these lessons to grow and further my career. I just want the world to know that my story is 100% authentic and that I’m not just making songs for fun I’m actually talking about my life and the world around me.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friends was just visiting for a week there’s a few places in Miami we could go. Would for sure have to hit the beach, walk around ocean drive, get some drinks. We have to go Hardrock Casino too a little gambling is always fun especially if you make some money. Of course I’d have to take my best friend to the strip club because everybody loves strippers. It’s like impossible not to have in Miami tons of options.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to all my friends and family. Fellow rappers and friends Jeremy Walker aka RicoAce and Larry Green aka HomeyP. They both are talented artists and help me record and even make beats. They’ve played a major role in my development and the music I’ve been able to make. Of course my son also plays a huge role he inspires me every day and I love when he asks me to play Renegade in the car.
