We had the good fortune of connecting with James Felton IV and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi James, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Honestly I think being true to your art is the most important factor. I fell in love with photography long before I ever snapped a picture. I still carry that fire to every single booking.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The results I produce is what feeds my fire. My communication is what sets me apart from other photographers. The first thing I do is have a conversation with the client, the more I know the better. The road here definitely wasn’t easy, but I knew this was my path. If I could give someone advice I would say be patient and consistent. I want the world to know that my brand will always strive to bring every clients idea to life.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First things first, I’d bring my friend to my family’s house for some good Caribbean food. The first couple days would be reserved for shopping and food. Places like Purple Carpet and Shoe Gallery are a must! We definitely gotta hit wynwood too. Also a stop to south beach because it’s always lit. Lastly, we’d hit wynwood again to bar hop. A photoshoot at every location is mandatory by the way.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
For me everything starts with my grandmother. She would always buy me disposable cameras to encourage my gift, I could never repay her for that. Experiences also steered my passion, I always tried to use pictures to remind me of my past.
