We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamie Rodriguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jamie, is there something you believe many others might not?
I am a strong believer that all the past failures and frustrations we have in life, are there to lay the foundations for a new level of living we can enjoy. IF we choose to see it that way. Life doesn’t happen to us, it happens FOR us. This means that even the greatest traumas, greatest challenges, can be our allies for success and transformation if we change the way we look at them.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Jrodconcerts is a media network we founded in early 2020 on the bones of my music Journalism background, & years of radio experience, most of it in the 2000’s in WHYI Y-100 in Miami. We consider our productions and shows a creative endeavor because we strive to create emotional power in our audience and guests by tapping into their creative skill and imagination while sharing their spirit with the world.

Our goal is to go beyond the regular interviews, and hit the patterns that inspire our guests, what make their heart sing and how their experience can strengthen and inspire the world at large. At launch, jrodconcerts the podcast was a solo endeavor with a limited audience. Today we are a staff of 4 that includes 2 photographers (Hayley Gjersten in Nashville and Alexandra Hryshyn in Los Angeles) our Public Relations Manager Sam Savory in South Florida and our media and graphics designer Shanley McCray in Austin, Texas. Our original podcast audience has now 52,000 unique listeners from all 50 states and 13 countries and recently launched a new weekly in-person show called: jrodconcerts: LIVE! From the Space at 100 Taylor Street recording weekly in Nashville, Tennessee with co-host legendary photographer Jeff Fasano.
The new show focuses on serving today’s most inspiring and influential artists in Nashville. Guests include Alt-rockers The Foxies, power country duo, and blooming stars Adam Chaffins and Brit Taylor, Country Hitmakers Erin Enderlin, Skylar Gregg and many more.
Our media network’s mission was born on the hunger for curation in a sea of endless quality music out there in the world. We focus primarily on three categories of musical guests: current hitmakers (Ex: Vampire Weekend, Echosmith and Maggie Rose) future stars (Ex: Country Hit Makers The Dryes: Katelyn Drye and Derek Drye Canadian Rocker JJ Wilde, Singer/Songwriter Paulina Jayne) and musical legends (Ex: John Oates and the late Mary Wilson of The Supremes) As for overcoming challenges? EVERY DAY. Part of success is failing and standing up again. Adversity is the seed of creating something of value. The discipline of turning failures into comebacks is what makes life worth living.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In Nashville, nothing beats seeing live music at iconic places like The Station Inn, The recently re-opened Basement East, or walking by music row, where music history was consistently made in places like RCA Studio B. If you want to get some records in Music City, Grimey’s in East Nashville covers all your needs and more!

In South Florida, the best record shop is in Fort Lauderdale, and it’s called Radioactive Records. Best place for vinyl lovers in the Sunshine State. Ask for Natalie or Gunther if you need any tips or recommendations!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
