We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamila Fraser and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jamila, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind starting my business was encouraged by the pandemic. As a child my grandmother would bake religiously every weekend and little did I know that passing the sugar , salt and greasing cake pans ( let me not forget how annoyed I was doing that lol) would’ve turned into my passion.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from others is my drive and determination to be successful in such a over saturated market. I’m most proud of my business growth is such a short span of time. I am where I am currently because I took a leap of faith when the world was in a panic, decided to believe in myself and my hidden talent and never stopped. This definitely has not been easy, however, the motivation from my spouse, family and close friends has definitely provided me with an extra boost of confidence and a reason to keep going. The delight on the faces of my clients, the positive reviews and feedback ignites a fire in me. I’d like the world to know that my brand will be a force to be reckoned with and I’d like to take this moment to encourage anyone reading this with a dream, regardless of what you might be going through and challenges you will face, eliminating fear and start the process and don’t be afraid to start small and dream big.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my friend came in town we’d be reserving a luxury air b&b home in Miami Beach. My private chef Tcookswithflave who happens to be my sister would cater our meals, followed by a night walking the stripe of Las Olas blvd in Fort Lauderdale and on the beach during the day.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to recognize my grandmother whom I got this talent from. She currently resides in Jamaica and to this day at 87 years old is still baking and calls me every week and we share recipes.
