We had the good fortune of connecting with Jannette Freire and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jannette, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind this Ministry and everything I do is God. I have learned that without Him I can do nothing. He is the one who gave me the idea for the Ministry and gave me the courage to go ahead with it. It’s still in the process of evolving into what He wants it to be but we have taken a few steps in the right direction.

Our main focus is helping others walk into their purpose and help them along the way. The first part of it is helping them heal with God’s help. We wrote and published a workbook called “It Is Time To Heal” which is a curriculum for Small Groups. We also recorded instructional videos that go with each lesson to help facilitate the small groups. Like I said, we did it all with His help because we had no idea what we were doing or how to do it but He walked us through it.

We have already had a few groups of women gather and go through the journey and it’s been amazing. They have found healing, have had breakthroughs from things that were stopping them from moving forward from their hurts, pains and mistakes and are now ready to facilitate a group and help others heal.

I thank God for picking me and giving me the chance to help others heal the way He healed me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have been a legal administrative assistant for as long as I can remember. I actually started my career while I was still in high school. I have learned a lot along the way and have had the privilege to work with a lot of different and great people who today I still call friends/family. I have always loved what I do and that has really made a difference in how I do my job.

I didn’t know that “administration” is a gift and now I understand why God allowed me to do it for so many years. It was preparation for what He has for me in the future with the Ministry. I love to plan, organize and keep everything running smoothly. I also know how important it is to have good people working with you. We all have our roles and need each other to get the job done. Teamwork makes the dream work.

Even though I love what I do, for the past few years I have had a desire to work in full-time ministry. I’m not sure where that came from or what it will even look like but I have been praying and asking God to help and guide me in the right direction. I have a servant’s heart and love helping people. That’s why facilitating the small groups that help women heal and realize who they were truly meant to be, fills me with so much joy and satisfaction. It’s not easy and I do get opposition at times but it’s all worth it.

My life hasn’t been an easy one and I’ve gone through a lot of pain and tribulation but God has truly turned all the bad into good. He has turned my mourning into dancing. He has brought out beauty out of ashes. That is why I owe it all to Him. If all I went through was to be able to help someone else go through their own struggles or even avoid them going through something because of my testimony, then it was all worth it.

I’m not sure where God is taking me with all of this but I am excited to see what He is going to do next with the Ministry and in my life.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When I have friends visiting I like to take them to a lot of my favorite places. If they want authentic Cuban food, I’ll take them to Sergio’s Restaurant, La Carreta or Mojito’s. I will also take them to Bonsai Thai & Sushi and to Tacos and Tattoos. If they want to go shopping, I will take them to Dolphin Mall for some good deals and also more eating at some of the other good restaurants at the mall. For a fun and relaxing day, we’ll go to the beach and stay to watch the sunset. If they are up for a little road trip, I’ll take them to the Keys for a day or two. And on Sunday, they will go to church with me. It’s important to get spiritually fed and have others pray for you.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I first want to thank God for everything He has done for me and for helping me through these past few years. I also want to thank Him for putting two very important women in my life who are also the co-founders of the Ministry (Genny Desvergunat and Eileen Apparicio). I couldn’t have done it without them! They are more than friends, they are my sisters. They always encouraged and helped me make this all a reality. We all took part in writing the workbook and doing the videos. They are the reasons why I didn’t quit and kept pushing through. Thank you both from the bottom of my heart!

I also want to thank my two daughters (Jessica and Venessa Plasencia) for always being my #1 fans and encouraging me along the way. They always see in me what I don’t see in myself. They are my greatest gift! I am as proud of them as they are of me. I love you both very much!
