We had the good fortune of connecting with Jano Degen, Oliver Leysing Jano Degen, Oliver Leysing and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jano Degen, Oliver Leysing, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
We are Jano and Oliver aka the World Walkerz, two guys from Germany. We started working as chefs in the kitchen. Jano in Dresden and Oliver in Düsseldorf, Germany. After we‘ve had finished our apprenticeship we worked together in a country club in Miami where we’ve met. After two years we’ve decided to keep travel and work outside of Germany. So we went to Australia and New Zealand. In our travels we started to get more and more into photography. We’ve got by the time lot of positive feedback and wanted to become more professional.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
First we made our pictures with the phone and a Sony alpha 6000. We wanted to do something different and by this time drones where just came out on the market. So we bought a drone and this was teh gamechanger for us. We want to show the people the nice and incredible places on this planet how the people usually don’t see (from above). With this pictures you think completely different of some places from a bird view. We‘ve traveled now over 100 countries and visited the most famous places but also hidden gems. With our photography and our drone people can see those places on earth which they never thought of, especially from above. Everywhere where we travel we also are interested in the culture, food and people of those countries which we share as well. The drone brought us to places and situations we wouldn’t have been without. By the time we lost some drones and hot now the 6th drone.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Definitely Wayag Island Raja Ampat in Indonesia. This is the last Paradise. It is a very remote island group in the South East Asian Seas. The water, landscapes and animal/marina world are amazing. The people are very friendly and rich with culture. It’s hard to get there and a long way. But the journey is the visit worth already. It’s a diving paradise and a perfect spot for taking pictures with our drone.
