We had the good fortune of connecting with Jarred Elmar and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jarred, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking

Opportunities present themselves to everyone at different times and in various forms, usually hidden or fraught with perceived danger and aways the possibility of embarrassment. Those who are ready to assess the risks, withstand any embarrassment, and proceed with complete dedication will be the fortunate ones who, when everything settles, will find themselves with significant rewards.

My Risk-Taking Started from a position without financial backing or formal education, My journey into risk-taking was not a choice but a necessity. This mindset set the stage for a life where stepping into the unknown became a survival mechanism and somewhat the standard. Unlike those born into comfort, who might see risks as optional or even avoidable, My path required embracing uncertainty as the only means to get ahead. In short, I grew because of the risks i took. sometimes i got it right and other times my compass was way off. I encourage people to know thyself because if you have a strong sense of self efficacy, you will always figure out how to change your current situation. if you don’t feel confident with what your gut is telling you then it may be best to work for someone who is confident in their decision making.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

Our firm owns and operates commercial real estate with a focus on industrial, retail, multi family and medical assets. We bring the everyday investor into each and every deal we pursue, allowing them to share in the cash flow, future appreciation and tax benefits. Our selectivity in deal-making has established our historical performance as unparalleled in the industry.

I take immense pride in the culture we’ve created within our company. At the heart of our values, is a commitment to collective philanthropy. We’ve instituted a charity committee that empowers our staff to decide the allocation of designated grant funds to various charities. This practice not only strengthens our philanthropic efforts but also fosters a sense of unity and purpose among our team members.

Achieving this level of success wasn’t easy. The journey was fraught with challenges, from murders in our first apartment complex we acquired in 2010 to public opposition with new developments we were working on. Yet despite this, we delivered our investors unprecedented returns on 50 projects and counting. The lessons learned from these experiences have been invaluable, teaching us the importance of resilience, the power of a united team, and the efficacy of maintaining high standards in our operations.

Our company reflects a belief in the power of a supportive, celebratory, and purpose-driven workplace. This philosophy, coupled with our strategic business principles, is what I believe truly distinguishes us in this competitive CRE landscape.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
we’d have to start in Miami. Brickell specifically. the all day hustle and bustle and the night life vibe is 2nd to none. weekend would go something like this: brunch at Michael Genuine in the design district and do a little damage at the luxury brand shops, Then head over to Wynwood for the appreciation of the creative side. then meet at the marina for a boat charter to cruise the Miami River and take in the most beautiful architecture from this vantage point. drinks and food on the boat and head over to KiKi’s on the river for great people watching. Evenings would include Delilas or Queen for dinner and perhaps Liv or Millas downstairs lounge for the after party.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My team. Whatever success I’ve had to date is not just my personal success but also the collective efforts and collaboration within my exceptional organization, The Geneva Group.

I see all successes as a collective and milestones my team has achieved together. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to each member of the Geneva Group for their commitment and contributions,
