We had the good fortune of connecting with Javier Rattia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Javier, what is the most important factor behind your success?
This is an interesting question…Although there is no single factor that can be considered the most important behind our success, I consider Team Work and the right team members as key elements in everything we do. Hard work, dedication, perseverance, a positive attitude, and a clear goal or vision are definitely at the top of the list. Additionally, having access to resources and the support of others, as well as the ability to adapt and learn from mistakes are also very important.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Well, we are a multitalented specialty contractor specialized in the design, engineering fabrication and installation of fabric structures. We provide in house-turn key solutions; from design/build to conceptual design, full engineering, fabrication and installation for iconic structures. We are set apart by having a team work approach in our work and by taking on challenges that other people refuse. We are always very proud of our work, specially projects such as the Qatar World Cup Stadiums, Hartford Healthcare Amphitheater among others. Our work is definitely never boring, our structures are unique in design and in complexity. These past years have been very rewarding in terms of projects and work; we have continued our international expansion and are making a solid presence in the architectural community.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I think Dubai is one of the most interesting and diverse places in the world today. It has everything the world can offer packed in one small place. Some of the best restaurantes and entertainment, cultural sites, beach and specially the desert. There is something about the desert specially at night that makes it a magical place.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I will like to recognize Howard Saffan owner of the Hartford Health Care Amphitheater & Nic Goldsmith and his team at FTL Design Studio for believing in us and our work even during the most difficult times of the process..
