We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer McNally and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jennifer, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
Funny because the first thing I thought of when I read the word happy was the song by Pharrell, “Happy”, and even the thought of that song alone made me smile and feel that “happy” feeling.

Ok, but in all seriousness, to answer the question, I think I must first acknowledge that I have learned over the years and through experiences and wise people in my life that happiness isn’t something that just happens but something that one must work at in order to really feel and live. Ultimately for me, knowing and accepting that fact has given me the opportunity to truly experience moments, people, things, and events that bring me happiness and make me happy.

Topping my list of happy would have to be my loved ones – family (especially my nephew, Cameron!), friends, and of course, my furry bestie, Harry. Next, the things I love to do – my job, SoulCycle, cooking, drinking wine, laughing, having fun, making memories. And more and more, I feel like I find an incredible happiness in planning and looking forward to things whether it be a vacation, an event, or time spent with the people that mean the most to me.

Life and time pass quickly. So in an effort to capitalize on every minute and live my happy, I try to make the best of each moment and surround myself with all the people and things that help me feel and be my true JENuineself.

… “clap along if you know what happiness is to you (Because I’m happy)”!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I was born and raised in Miami where I attended Epiphany Catholic School and Our Lady of Lourdes Academy. I received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Florida. Once I decided to become a nurse, I knew I wanted to be a labor and delivery nurse and be involved with childbirth. It’s been extremely gratifying for me to be part of such a special journey with patients, family, and friends and has been one of my life’s greatest blessings to be part of so many special birth days! After working as a clinical nurse in maternal child nursing and labor and delivery for six years at South Miami Hospital, I received a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Miami School of Nursing & Health Studies.

In 2010, I joined South Miami OB-GYN Associates as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN). In this role, I work in both the office and the hospital, providing OB-GYN care, pelvic floor rehabilitation, vaginal rejuvenation therapy, and esthetic services. I am lucky to be in an OB-GYN practice where my job and role has grown and evolved with my patients and me – from wellness to family planning through pregnancy and child birth and now esthetics. By providing a combination of esthetic services and OB-GYN care, I believe I am able to offer fully comprehensive women’s healthcare and ultimately, help my patients look, feel and be the best version of themselves.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ugh this is a tough one because I love so many things about Miami and it has so much to offer.

We would absolutely make sure to eat at some of my favorites – Luca Osteria, Uchi, Hillstone.

For drinks, I guess it would depend on the time of year and the weather but most recently I have enjoyed the Pink Tables on Fuller Street in Coconut Grove, Oasis in Wynwood, and sunset cocktails at Baia Beach Club at Mondrian South Beach.

Things to do would of course include SoulCycle, sitting by the pool and most definitely, a stop at my office for some treatments to make my bestie look and feel her most JENuineself!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Always love to give credit where credit is due. First and foremost, my Catholic faith for the foundation and teachings that have guided me and taught me to be who I am, in good times and bad. A close second, my parents who have loved, supported and inspired me to always do and be my very best. Can’t forget my sister, who was my first real life baby doll, first “model” for all things self care and my forever favorite sounding board when I need advice and a voice of reason. Finally, on a professional level, I would like to recognize the wonderful team that I work with at South Miami OB/GYN Associates. I have had the unique and incredible opportunity to work with some of the same dedicated physicians and nurses, who are now nurse practitioners, since I first began my career in nursing and feel so fortunate to be able to have them as mentors and colleagues, who have become lifelong friends and my daytime family.
