Meet Jenny Sanchez: Yoga, Meditation, & Retreat Guide

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenny Sanchez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jenny, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I have always worked for myself which I know made my thought process behind our retreat business so special. I wanted to create an experience that would get people way out of their comfort zone (out of their heads) to create space for new tools and ideas that they can take home with them and apply to their busy lives…all while having an amazing time of course! Owning busy yoga studios, I know first hand how you can get so lost in a busy routine, how life can become stale and uninspired. I have been traveling to Patagonia for the past 10 years, and each time I left I realized how much more open I had become…how much more space I seemed to have. Travel does that in itself, but there is something extra magical about being so immersed in nature. And travel paired with hiking, yoga, meditation, food, no planing necessary, and all done out in Mother Nature, really creates the space for a shift to happen in peoples lives. I wanted to offer an experience that starts in Patagonia but really never ends 🙂
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We have expanded our yoga business from Miami into Patagonia, Argentina 🙂 We offer a one week experience/retreat/journey through the lakes district of Patagonia. It is a journey truly hosted by Mother Nature herself! Filled with local food, great wine and artisanal beer, tons of hiking, and daily yoga and meditation sessions. This is not a retreat where you check into a hotel and lounge around. The experience is challenging, off-the-beaten-path, rugged, rustic, and at times not for the faint of heart (just like Patagonia!). All designed to get you out of your head and into the moment. As avid travelers ourselves, we know well the rush and wonder that comes with taking an outstanding trip. That feeling of connectedness and sense of being wholly present that sometimes gets lost when we return to our everyday lives. Our goal is to help you learn how to combine the two. To absorb all the excitement and fascination of travel and then head home with the tools necessary to approach your job, family, friends, and everyday routines with that very same excitement. Through food, fun, stepping way outside of your comfort zone and immersing yourself into nature. Accompany that with a daily yoga and meditation practice and you are on your way. Oh you’ve never done yoga before? Never meditated? Not a hiker? No stress! All levels are welcome! Absolutely no experience needed! The hiking is challenging for sure, but not advanced. I teach both the yoga and meditation with a practical, down-to-earth approach that will make it simple and easy for you to continue long after your trip has ended (which it never really does).
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Hiking the Andes mountains! Honestly, this is a hiking lovers dream retreat! And if you are not a hiking lover just yet, we are confident you will be leaving one. You will trek some of the best spots of the Lake Region of Patagonia. Some very well known, and some only found when hiking with locals. A few hikes include: Circuito Chico, Cerro LLao LLao, Cerro Amigo, El Cajon, and Lago Puelo. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included. We prepare amazing dishes that will nourish both your body and soul! Infused with love and made from all locally sourced ingredients, this trip is as much about the food as it is the scenery. El Bolson is famous for it’s organic, regionally grown produce, so be prepared to eat some of the best fruits, jams, cheese and ice cream you may ever taste! Famous Argentinian wine and local artisanal beer is also included. El Bolson is well known for its hops. In fact, there are hops grown in El Bolson that aren’t grown in any other part of the world! You will be sampling some of the best beers around. And, of course, the Malbec…..need I say more?
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Oh Boy! I could go on forever with a list of people that have lifted me up, helped , and inspired me all these years! I would have to say that our yoga community in Miami is who deserves the most thanks and love for all their support, not just to me, but to each other as well. We have created quite a special community over the years that I would say has inspired us all at some point and in some way. Being part of such a special group of people has been an absolutely awesome experience.
