We had the good fortune of connecting with Jess Lynch and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jess, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I grew up around women who rejected the status quo as their only option. That has been hugely impactful in how I view the world and my own opportunities. My grandmother was the most read lifestyle columnist at the Boston Globe and when the newspaper changed author ownership rights, she quit in protest! She’s a passionate advocate for the environment and human rights and shows me on a daily basis it’s important to stand up for what you believe in. My mother became an author herself when my brother was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes and was told by doctors he should eat ice cream and pasta and not worry about his diet as a diabetic. She knew there were better approaches, quit her job, researched options and wrote a book that has helped thousands of families coast to coast. When I saw the need for a more human approach to marketing and customer engagement, knowing it could positively impact millions of people every day, I knew I also needed to quit my job and pursue this opportunity full time.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Wishroute is all about human connection and helping companies help their customers move their lives forward and be successful within their product offerings. Wishroute does this by enabling subscription companies to add sms coaching to their customer experience with real, caring humans on the other side. By adding Wishroute companies increase engagement, free-to-paid conversion, and retention. Our approach is based in behavioral science and years of R&D – this foundation sets us apart and makes us the most effective offering on the market.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love living in Boston and since my apartment is in the Italian district called the North End I take people who visit out to delicious meals with fresh pasta and amazing red wine! I also love the fitness scene in Boston and enjoy going to Barre Groove with friends where they run trampoline based fitness classes that are an absolute blast. Finally, since Boston is on the water, one of my favorite things to do is walk on the harbor walk around Boston harbor and get fresh air while watching sunset.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to my parents who have always rooted me on and showed me that life begins at the end of your comfort zone – it’s okay to feel fear but you do it anyway – that’s when courage is key and life begins!
