We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Kelly Silverio and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jessica Kelly, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I was born in Boston, Massachusetts by amazing Brasilian parents who sacrificed a lot for me to be where I am today. Being a first generation American, I most definitely had to figure most things out on my own at an early age. Although I felt a different weight of responsibility to ensure their sacrifices paid off, I am eternally grateful that the weight I have carried has truly made me stronger. I am more independent, which has given me the strength to take more risks and take initiative towards things with no regrets. In addition, I am fluent in multiple languages and have cross cultural experiences that have shaped my hunger for success at a whole different level. I truly credit my upbringing, experiences and more due to my diverse cultural exposure since birth.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I was raised by the principle that the Earth produces the best ingredients for our health, from teas to herbs to essential oils, I was always given that option before anything for any health condition. I started creating my own skin care products and people would always ask what I do to have healthy skin. Once I told them that it was product I created, they would want a sample and thus I started creating my own skin care line. I wanted to learn more about the skin, so I enrolled in a Beauty School and became a Licensed Esthetician. Learning is lifelong and I do want to become an stronger expert in my field, so I will be pursuing an MD to become a Dermatologist. I have learned a plethora of things along the way, from time management to building strong relationships, and much more. I got to where I am today professionally due to my tenacity and the willingness to be a student of life. I wake up every day and emerge in materials to educate myself on the latest trends, current events, etc. When you are passionate about something, you do your best to overcome any obstacle in your way. I do my best to work smarter and not harder, however when it is time to do the work, I will see it through. I owe it to myself to be disciplined and consistent with delivering the best version of myself to the world. The foundation of my brand is to elevate your lifestyle, starting with your skin care routine: because your body’s largest organ, deserves it. I want the world to know that everything I do is made with love and that my goal is to continue to empower all. My desire is touch lives of those near and abroad in a way that encourages everyone to achieve their best self.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My best friends currently live in South Florida, however if one of my friends from another city came into town, I would definitely get us rooms at the The Guitar Hotel at Seminole Hard Rock. The hotel and the casino is beautiful with the new remodel. For a few nights in Fort Lauderdale, we will have dinner at Chima Brasilian Steak house, drinks at The Wilder or the Rooftop. For a few nights in Miami, we are definitely having dinner at Katsuya, then get drinks at Sugar in Brickell. May even show them around Wynwood to see different art and venues. We may just end the night getting a bottle of champagne or wine and head back to the hotel for the vibes and views. South Florida has many venues of entertainment as well, from sports to the arts, possibilities of having an amazing experience is limitless.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I most definitely give credit to God. He truly is amazing and has created the life I currently live. I also give credit to my parents and my brother Jonathan, who have seriously contributed to upbringing and my life. With my entire blood relatives besides my parents and my brother, still living in Brasil, I have a few people that God has placed in my life that have become close friends, that have turned into family for me(you know who you are), and I am eternally grateful for them. I am grateful to an organization near and dear to my heart, SISTUHS, Incorporated. This organization is truly an organization for women that fosters an environment for personal and professional growth. I have met some of the most amazing women and mentors through this organization, that continue to shape me into the leader and woman I am today.
