We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Marin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jessica, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
It started in 2021 when I was looking to purchase lingerie online and I really couldn’t find anything that made me want to buy it without me thinking “it’s too much for me to wear’. I’ve always thought less is more so I wanted to create a brand that showed minimalist pieces with sexy finishes for the everyday women.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think when you really want something and you put your mind and soul into it you can accomplish anything you want. When the idea popped up in my head I knew that I had to work twice as double to be able to afford all the cost of creating eternity. I had 3 jobs a 9-5, real estate after my day job and a weekend job. Yes! it was very exhausting, some days I didn’t know how I was going to do it but I pushed through and I was able to start the process very quick. To see an idea come to life is the most astonishing feeling. Now I look back and I feel very proud of myself for the hard work I put in. Nothing was perfect or smooth, every piece is made in Colombia which makes it 10x harder because I couldn’t be on top of the production and I had to wait weeks to get a sample and when I finally did they would not be good which extended the process even more because now I had to wait for them to fix it and send it back. But overall it’s amazing to see how your ideas are All Put together and now are all real pieces. seeing customers wearing your ideas is the best reward you can get. You have to be very dedicated and focused when you want to do something and don’t let someone else’s chapter discourage you from where you want to go. There’s plenty of room for everyone to succeed even if the beginning is hard ,if you keep being consistent you will definitely be rewarded for your hard work.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my bestie was in town I would take her to bar hop in wynwood, they have a diverse selection of bars and restaurants with cool art work and nice architecture. We would also visit a couple of places On the beach like the one hotel rooftop, soho house, casa tua, and the faena that has a beautiful bar and restaurant inside.
Brickell also has really nice restaurants I would definitely take her there to check out sugar it’s a rooftop where you see the city and Kaori for a drink (the architecture inside is beautiful). A great Lounge in brickell would be socialista the ambiance is nice and the drinks are good.
