Meet Jessica Obregon | Artist & Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Obregon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jessica, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my own business was really about taking my power back. After so many years of freelancing in the entertainment industry—where work was unpredictable and I constantly felt like I had to prove myself—I reached a point where I craved more stability, freedom, and purpose. I knew I had valuable experience, not just as a performer and choreographer, but also in connecting with people and creating meaningful, memorable experiences.
I wanted the freedom to create without restrictions—the kind I often faced when working for other companies or studios. That desire to break free and take ownership of my creativity is what led me to launch my entertainment company back in 2017. For me, it wasn’t just a business move—it was a personal transformation and a bold step toward building something of my own.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As an artist, I go by Jessi-O, and that name represents the most raw, expressive, and fearless version of me. Through dance, music, and performance, I tell stories rooted in passion, culture, and lived experience. I’ve been performing since I was young, and over time, my artistry has evolved into something deeply personal and powerful. I create to connect, to inspire, and to bring people joy—and I do it in my own unique style that blends Latin flavor, street vibes, and feminine energy.
But Jessi-O isn’t just a performer. I’m also the founder of Star Elements Entertainment, a company I created in 2017 to bring high-quality, elite entertainment to life. While Jessi-O is the artist, Star Elements is the business—the professional side that allows me to share my vision on a bigger scale, collaborate with other talented performers, and choreograph for artists, events, and productions. It’s my way of giving back to the industry that shaped me and creating space for others to shine too.
Getting to where I am now hasn’t been easy. I’ve faced rejection, burnout, and moments of doubt. But I’ve also learned that the things that challenge you are the same things that refine your purpose. I’ve learned to own my worth, value my voice, and stay true to my vision—even when the industry tries to box you in.
If there’s one thing I want the world to know, it’s that I’m not here to follow a path—I’m here to create one. Whether through Jessi-O or Star Elements, everything I do is about authenticity, creativity, and making space for others to dream big too.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend came to visit for a week, I’d want to show them a blend of everything that’s shaped me—my Miami roots and my current Miramar lifestyle. We’d start in Little Havana with cafecito and pastelitos from Versailles, stroll down Calle Ocho to soak in the culture, music, and art I grew up around, and maybe grab dinner at a local favorite like Doce Provisions. Of course, we’d spend a day on South Beach—walking Ocean Drive, soaking up the sun, and enjoying lunch at Nikki Beach. At night, we’d dress up and head to Dolores But You Can Call Me Lolita or Crazy About You for dinner and a chic Miami vibe. Another day would be all about Wynwood—checking out the murals at Wynwood Walls, grabbing tacos from Coyo Taco, and dancing the night away at Wynwood Factory. We’d also hit the Hard Rock area or Las Olas for a day of exploring some of the coolest spots—grab drinks, shop, and maybe check out a live band or a rooftop bar. I’d show them my current world in Miramar—spending time at Pembroke Gardens, grabbing a bite from one of my favorite Caribbean or Latin spots, and maybe ending the day with a chill movie night. I’d definitely bring them to one of my dance classes, and if I had a gig, they’d get the full behind-the-scenes experience. Midweek, we’d escape to the Keys for a day trip to Islamorada or Key Largo, enjoy the views, eat some amazing seafood, and just recharge. We’d wrap up the trip with a relaxing beach picnic or spa day, and toast the week with rooftop drinks at Sugar. Honestly, it would be a mix of fun, flavor, creativity, and good energy—just like life down here.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Honestly, my biggest teacher has been experience. For a long time, I didn’t have a mentor or much support—I had to figure things out on my own. Every challenge, setback, and win taught me something and shaped who I am today. That journey built my resilience and independence.
But I also have to shout out my husband. He came into my life during a time when I was still finding my way, and he’s been one of my biggest supporters ever since. Whether it’s encouraging me behind the scenes or helping me stay grounded when things get hectic, his presence and belief in me mean everything.
