Meet Jhonny Delgado | Sandoches Chef and Co Founder

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jhonny Delgado and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jhonny, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting a new business takes a lot of work. We tried different formulas for each recipe, chose the ingredients, and did thousands of tests until we were happy with the result.
The branding and the visual part were also difficult, but thanks to the help we had, we achieved an engaging brand like the one we have.
Leaving your regular job to take a risk without knowing if it will turn out well, investing and risking everything. In general, deciding to have your own business is challenging and risky, but we are happy to have made the decision.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Nothing sets us apart from others; we believe everyone has the potential to achieve something incredible.
Our passion lies in providing good, affordable food with a unique culinary experience for people. It has been challenging, especially when starting a business in a new country. However, with discipline, consistency, and persistence, failure isn’t an option. Consistency pays off; it’s just a matter of time.
I’ve learned numerous lessons, from falling and getting back up countless times to realizing that consistent trial and error leads to excellence.
We want the world to know that hard work and dedication can get you far. Sandoches isn’t just a business; it’s a family endeavor. My wife and I are fully committed to its success, investing our hearts and souls into it daily to ensure that Sandoches continues growing and becoming more recognized.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Wow, we were blessed with tons of support from the beginning.
My wife and partner, Valentina Jimenez, Sandoches Co-Founder, is my #1 supporter and the one who manages Sandoches with me.
For branding, Spotdly, a creative studio, supported us with the logo and the whole brand identity, and they advised us on every step as a brand from the beginning.
We also had the support of friends in the industry, other chefs, and popups who were open to collaborating with us to help us get to know their communities. Friends like Adolfo Pucci, Los Bandidos Taqueria, and Cowy Burger shared their locations and audiences with us, which we continue to nurture. We want to continue collaborating with friends to create different menus and share them with our consumers.
Friends with their cameras supported us with the videos and photos that are so important for business, including Pedro Sanchez Mayorca, Sori Mosquera, Jesus Cañizalez, and more.
All the places that lend or rent us their space to make our popups also deserve recognition here. Without those places that give you the space to sell your product, the popups would not be possible—Shotout to Smorgasburg, J Wakefield Brewing, Tripping Animals, Sidewalk Bottleshop, and more.
We have undoubtedly received much support from many people, plus the support of family and friends who were the first to try our Sandoches and promote them.
