Meet Jimi Santoli | I am a relationship builder who provides value and helps my customers win

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jimi Santoli and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jimi, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
I believe that the most important lesson my career has taught is that I should always be willing to learn, every day, every situation has a lesson and that lesson can help you grow, one step at a time.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Well, I started my floral journey in 1988. Fresh out of high school I wanted a different kind of job. Unsure of what i wanted to do with my life, I popped into a flower shop here in Miami one day, asked if they were hiring for drivers and they were. Thus began my floral journey. Worked many years in retail as well as the event side of the industry. I learned as much as I could and focused all my energy on this craft I never knew existed inside of me. I eventually landed a job at an event company and basically was the operations manager for almost 20 years. Being in charge of every aspect of the event business prepared me for my journey into the sales/account management side where I would eventually end up, Armed with all this experience and knowledge of the floral industry I was able to grow my book of business and help my customers with their floral needs basically because I have been where they are, The floral industry is definitely not an easy one and there are challenges every day we face. But when you have a great team to help and guide you, challenges can quickly be overcome and growth is inevitable.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely take them to Wynwood in Miami. Lots of art and people-watching. And without a doubt we would head to the keys. So many places to hang out, relax, listen to live music, fish, boat, etc
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We, over the course of my 35 years in the floral business I have definitely come across some great mentors and teachers but I do have to say that Mike Black, the owner of Jet Fresh, has definitely taught me a lot in the short period I have been on his team. He is a wealth if floral knowledge and to hear his passion about the industry is par none.
