We had the good fortune of connecting with jisbar and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi jisbar, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
being free, it’s the only thing that nobody can take it from you, free to think, free to create and to express, free to move. i worked all my life on this subject to achieved this goal. now i’m free to plan my day, my work the way i want, and i feel that my mind is very clear now. for me, there is nothing worse than having a life of obligations, the only obligation I have is to do what I want and when I want. of course all my life cannot be like that, but i try to keep my freedom as much as i can. when i was younger i imagined that money, power, fame, love or the self-image were the coolest goals to achieve, but i was wrong. after 10 years as a professional painter i had the opportunities to travel a lot and to learn from other people. from the worst to the best. and now i’m happy to be finally myself, to be free of my choice and to be happy to make them. in addition, and to be less philosophical, i love painting, traveling, wasting time outside, creating new concept, new idea, working on different subjects and with different materials. i love all spontaneous and crazy ideas.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
it’s not easy to become an artist. the hardest part is to believe that, yes you’re an artist. when you realized it, you can understand the “power” you have. it’s a huge responsibility for me to express my feeling in this complexe language, i need to be aware of my environment, to take inspiration on everything, to be able to take position and to show all that to people. its like being nacked in front of thousand people, with the time, you get used to that. i love express myself in painting because to me its more precise than traditional communication. you can use color, emotions, relief, word, situation, to express something, even the location of the painting, the place where its exhibit and the frame tell a story. it’s a world of detail mix with a big spontaneous feeling. this kind of paradoxe is very unusual and make me happy each day. i’m pretty proud of all i’ve done because i put a lot of love and energy in it. i was so exited to send my painting in space in 2019, i was so exited to work with DJ snake, to make a world tour of solo shows, to help hospital by raising fund with the brand Ducati… i think like any work in the world, mine is challenging, you never leave your painter mind, its very intense and 24/7/365 job. it demand a lot of time and energy and to keep your mind always creative. it’s challenging but to be honest i think is more a gift. so i take it as it is.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
why only focus your mind to one place, an hypothetical question need an hypothetical answer. So, i will bring him to San Francisco to enjoy the US way of life. meet some good artists, enjoy big cars and big roads, and make some business, then we will move to Amsterdam to enjoy local products, eat good food and rest a bit in a boat on the canal, then we go to Bangkok to change our mind, find new ideas and inspiration, we can visit all those temples that we can’t see in europe we can, after that, go to Australia to relax in front the mermaid beach, have a bit of rest and learn how to surf and finish with Dubai, because i never been yet and i want to discover it
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
