We had the good fortune of connecting with Joanna Cavalcante and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joanna, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Consistency and the willingness to fail! Most people will see someone else’s success and think: “she’s so lucky.” But – what they don’t realize is that I have done the work day in and day out. I’ve failed; but gotten right back up. I’ve been fearful; but SHOWED UP ANYWAY.
I’ve been willing to leave my ego at the door and continue to learn and grow. Success is built on the “inconveniences” in the journey. You have to KEEP going. Every single day, and especially when no one is watching. Most of the time without any validation. It’s trusting the process and the journey and not giving up when most will quit.

What should our readers know about your business?
I like to think I’m in the business of matchmaking a perfect fit – business growth, mindset and dance fitness!

There are businesses out there who focus on dance fitness and businesses out there who focus on supporting entrepreneurs … but I had never seen something that kept both of them equally important. I know when people walk out of the room after a class with us they feel leaving better than when they showed up, and that is what this is about. I also know people leave after a business mentoring session or certification program with me, and they leave with a plan to monetize their business and the tracks to run on.

I’ve always believed you need to “show up anyway”, and this means in business and in class! If we show up for 1 like we show up for 100, and if we show up for ourselves the way we would show up for $1million paycheck, we are in momentum.

I’m most excited about the growth we are experiencing and the thousands (and beyond!) of people we are going to support and grow out of their comfort zones. They say success lies on the other side of fear and the first step is to – have a plan!
I’ve always LOVED systems and supporting others to go after their dreams, and with my coaching programs I’m bringing it all together in a way that takes a dedicated fitness professional from GOOD to GREAT. Wherever you are in your business journey, know that there is a path for you and with the right coach, you will get there FASTER and with more ease.

What started with me showing up to teach just a few has now evolved into a feeling and a way of living – for myself and dozens and dozens of instructors who we are certifying monthly so they can teach in their hometowns and virtually. We hold these trainings every few weeks and it’s truly the most authentic way to spread the word.

You ask a great question about what I’d like the world to know about our brand. If I could leave this conversation sharing one thing it would be my excitement in being able to take a passion and convert it to a successful business! There’s room for ANYONE to take an idea and build a strong business with it; creating impact as a dance fitness & business mentor is what fires me up each day!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I LOVE Miami! I’ve been traveling to FL for a long time and just recently relocated to Palm Beach Gardens from Long Island, NY. When in Miami – I love to soak in the culture, hit up a pool party, go to the beach, or check out any of the beautiful Art Deco hotels. Prime 112 is a MUST if you want a restaurant with amazing food and service. Lincoln Road Mall is always a favorite – just take a walk through and you will find music, events & some really great restaurants. Rent a boat or take a ride with a tour guide to Biscayne bay. The sightseeing is fantastic & it’s so fun to learn about where the Celebrities & Entrepreneurs live.

If you happen to take a trip a bit more north, Palm Beach Gardens, West Palm Beach & Jupiter have some really great attractions! Check out Rosemary Square or Clematis in Downtown West Palm. (The Hilton has a FUN family friendly pool party on Saturdays.) Elisabettas is a fun Italian restaurant with a great vibe! Come a little further north to Palm Beach Gardens and check out Lynoras in Alton. They have a great brunch and then kids can run around Alton Town Square. The water and beaches on SINGER ISLAND are absolutely stunning. And don’t forget Juno Beach Pier.
LOVE street in Jupiter is packed with great people watching and restaurants & you can’t beat the view of the Jupiter light house!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
YES! My husband, Mike Cavalcante. He was the one who believed in me when I didn’t. He supported me when I was unhappy in my job and left to start searching for my passions. He didn’t blink an eye when I wanted to jump into Direct Sales and start my own business. He has been my partner in crime in life and business. He is always encouraging me to keep dreaming & to go after it!
