We had the good fortune of connecting with Johanna Sulca and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Johanna, how do you think about risk?
Risk taking has always been a presence in my career. It keeps me feeling challenged and motivated to take risks. I am always setting goals and look forward with positive anxiety for the outcomes. Risk taking has brought me to my current passion of aesthetics medicine and I don’t regret one minute of it.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Since I can remember I have held a health care position. I started my career as a nursing assistant and worked my way up the ranks to a director of nursing. I thought that was the top of the hill for me, but the entrepreneurial side of me kept nagging within me. When I became a nurse practitioner, I dreamed of running my own business, making people more beautiful every day, and setting my own work hours. I started listening to Elite NP, Justin Allan is an NP entrepreneur that teaches other NP’s to own their own practice. He instilled in me so much inspiration, I listened to him weekly, sometimes daily! I would like my story to inspire others somehow, I want to believe this is my purpose in life. No, the road is not easy but dedication will take you to your dreams and aspirations. Sulca Aesthetics brings aesthetic treatments to Broward County which are reasonably priced. Perhaps you can’t afford a treatment from South Beach but you can afford one from my office. I hope my clients feel my story with every encounter, it is one of hard work, love and passion for the field of health care.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love wynwood walls, the art is breathtaking. Taking a day trip to Key Largo and admiring the ocean views is always a must when my friends or family is visiting. Catching a concert or game at the Kaseya center is also an exciting time for me.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
With the support of my mom always helping me do the things at home which I can not always get to, and the most amazing close friends always providing moral support, I gained the confidence to establish my dream of running my own business. My father has always been an inspiration to me as well, he has worked for himself all of his life, his guidance when I was ready to take the leap helped me feel accompanied in this entrepreneurial journey.
