Meet Jojo Nessim | Founder of Rainbow Spaces

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jojo Nessim and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jojo, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Starting my own business was really about following my instincts and creativity. I’ve always loved making things, and as I grew older, I realized how much joy creating and sharing those things with others brought me. However, I didn’t plan on becoming an entrepreneur right away.
The idea for my first business, Halotied, came naturally. I wanted to do something creative and fun, like tie-dyeing tank tops for my friends who were leaving for college. When those tank tops unexpectedly sold out on Depop, it hit me—I could turn my creative hobbies into something bigger. From that point on, I kept reinvesting what I earned and taught myself how to run a small business.
When I eventually pivoted to Rainbow Spaces, I knew I wanted to create products that were not just visually beautiful but that also brought positivity and light into people’s lives. The thought process behind Rainbow Spaces centered around making homes and workspaces feel joyful and personal, something I knew from experience could have a powerful impact on well-being.
Ultimately, starting a business was about trusting my creative vision, embracing trial and error, and letting passion guide me through the challenges. I wanted to build something meaningful that could brighten people’s everyday lives.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
At Rainbow Spaces, my focus is on creating products that bring light, joy, and positivity into everyday spaces. Our sun catchers aren’t just decor—they’re designed experiences that transform sunlight into vibrant rainbows, lifting moods and creating a calming atmosphere. We put great care into designing products that appeal to a wide range of customers, offering styles and colors that fit various tastes and environments.
Getting here hasn’t been easy. I started my entrepreneurial journey with a tie-dye clothing brand, but I eventually pivoted when I realized my passion was shifting. With Rainbow Spaces, I found a clearer sense of purpose: creating products that positively impact people’s well-being and help them feel at home in their spaces.
I’ve faced challenges like material sourcing and scaling operations, but each taught me resilience and the importance of trusting my instincts. I want people to know that Rainbow Spaces is about more than just products. It’s a reflection of my passion for helping others create beautiful, uplifting spaces.
I’m incredibly excited for the future of Rainbow Spaces. We’ve built a strong foundation, and I can’t wait to expand our product line, collaborate with other creatives, and reach more customers around the world. There are so many ideas I’m eager to bring to life, from new designs to innovative ways to enhance home decor. I’m looking forward to seeing how the brand evolves and continues to spread light, color, and positivity in the years ahead. The journey is just beginning, and I couldn’t be more excited for what’s to come!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting, I’d take them to some of my favorite spots across LA and beyond. We’d start with great food in Venice, exploring local cafes and beachfront spots, then head to Larchmont for some window shopping and good eats. Malibu would be a must for a laid-back beach day, with a picnic by the ocean. We’d definitely make time to visit Point Dume and take in the incredible views and do the nature walk. Another highlight would be a trip to Laguna Beach, where we’d spend the day exploring art galleries, shops, and relaxing by the water.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are so many people who have played a role in my journey, and I’m incredibly grateful for each of them. First and foremost, I have to shout out my family. My mom really nurtured my creative spirit from a young age by encouraging us to try all kinds of arts and crafts. She made creativity feel like second nature. My grandma, who was an artist herself, also had a big influence on me, showing me that making art could be both a passion and a way of life. And my dad deserves credit for those countless trips to Michaels, where my sister and I spent hours exploring, dreaming up new projects.
Beyond family, I’ve been inspired and supported by friends and mentors who’ve been there through the ups and downs of entrepreneurship. I also owe a lot to the small-business community I found online. Watching other creators and entrepreneurs share their struggles and wins helped me realize I wasn’t alone and gave me the confidence to keep pushing forward.
Lastly, I want to give a shoutout to every single customer who has supported Rainbow Spaces and my previous ventures. Hearing how our products bring joy and light into people’s lives is what keeps me going. Knowing that something I made can brighten someone’s day is one of the most rewarding parts of this journey. This community is a constant reminder of why I started, and I couldn’t be more thankful for their support.
