We had the good fortune of connecting with Jonathan Adonys Perez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jonathan Adonys, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Taking Risk has been a “must” decision for me. Short back story, I was raised by my mom and my sister, they never took risks, my mom was born in Cuba, she did the best that she could, started at the bottom working for a hospital cleaning and then made her way into an office, she has always worked a 9-5 she has always believed that was the best way to go through life. My sister was the same way, she was very ” go through college get a 9-5 have kids take vacations once a year” like most people and I’m not sure what it was that clicked for me but I started to learn and understand how businesses start and how they thrive which was always related to someone taking a risk. So I started selling cars at 19, the pay was strictly commission. Selling Cars I learned how to sell my personality to the consumers, I got good at it and eventually I left to try a different sales job. I listened to and read Robert Kiyosaki’s book “Rich Dad Poor Dad” which is what lead me to take a risk in Real Estate.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets me apart from others is my persistence, I take pride in providing good communication, I am always transparent regardless of the outcome. I am extremely proud of how well I have learned to communicate with clients, I do a great job in helping them understand every step along the way. It took me a few years to really master communication with others, that’s something that never came to me easy until I realized where I was going wrong and learning how to fix my communication Issues. I take pride in my honest and transparent communication with everyone I come in contact with, it helps avoid issues and it helps solve issues. No matter what you sell you have to learn how to communicate effectively with others, you have to be honest and transparent even with bad news, I have had situations where I have to deliver bad news and even then just because I was honest and transparent with them they have continued to do business with me, people like to know they can trust you, and in sales gaining a clients trust is what its all about.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite spot in the city is definitely the beach, surfside is a great beach to hangout with friends, it’s not packed with people so you can bring a football and toss it around. After the beach we usually head to Flanigans for food and drinks, their ribs are my favorite and they have amazing appetizers. Another fun spot to hangout at is Oleta River State Park, you can rent mountain bikes and they have a ton of trails for beginners to even experts, they have a beach, an area to cook barbecues with park benches, you can also rent canoes, definitely a great way to spend a day hanging out outside and having a great time. I will also go to the movies pretty often, I love watching movies. I would also recommend to go visit Phillip & Patricia Frost Museum of Science, you can definitely spend a good amount of time there walking around and doing all the activities, right across from the frost museum you have the Pérez Art Museum as well, from there we can visit bayside for food and drinks!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Huge shoutout to my Girlfriend, we have been together for 8 years, we just had a baby boy, he is 6 months now. I have had a lot of ups and downs financially through the years and she has never told me no to anything that I have wanted to try, regardless how crazy it is. She has always supported me through the good decisions and the bad decisions. She has always stuck by my side, she has taken risks with me as well, not once has she complained about any of it. I am extremely grateful for her and all that she does for me and with me. I would also like to give a shoutout to Robert Kiyosaki and his book “Rich Dad, Por Dad” that really impacted and changed my life.
