We had the good fortune of connecting with Jonnie Pinon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jonnie, why did you pursue a creative career?
The one thing I knew before starting my photography business was that I wanted to be my own boss. I wanted to work in a career that had meaning for me and I would truly enjoy doing. In high school I took the necessary courses to focus on web design and I realized it was fun for me. I started working by myself designing websites for photographers and Dj’s, but it was never my full-time job. I had a regular job and as a hobby I started doing photography on my friends cars. I worked on my skills and continued to improve them. During the pandemic, I decided one day to lose the fear. I was very curious about real estate photography and I wasn’t happy at my job. Without any experience or an “in” in real estate, I chose to quit my job and focus on a new adventure. It was from one day to the next. With no plan, no backup, just my will to be happy doing something I loved, creating content, working at my own pace and with a drive to learn and simply grow. I started my real estate photography business and it has been the best decision I have made.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Miami Luxe Images is a professional real estate photography company based in Miami. We specialize in photographing homes, vacation rentals and commercial real estate. As a first generation business owner, it has been a rollercoaster to make the business come together. It has taken many hours and much research to set the business in place. From building its website from scratch to learning videography or how to use a drone etc. Rollercoaster and all, quitting is never an option. The more work you put in your business, the more rewarding it is. I am most proud of the work-life balance my business allows me to enjoy. I am constantly learning new skills and that is also very exciting.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to Joseph Gonzalez, who without personally knowing me decided to open doors for me to dive into the real estate photography world. He has been my mentor and trainer in a world I had zero experience in. Can’t forget those friends who have supported me since the start of this journey. I appreciate you all.
