We had the good fortune of connecting with Jorge Alberto and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jorge Alberto, what do you attribute your success to?
I believe it’s important to work doing something you love. When I began Cult Classic with a dream of one day having my artwork showcased in homes, businesses, museums all over the world. I wanted to be able to portray the beauty of my subjects which are usually nature/landscape prone to the viewers. The gift of being able to translate beauty of something as simple as a rock on top of a Glacier in the middle of Alaska for someone who’s never had the opportunity to see one in person and be inspired to perhaps take that trip or do something to help preserve our environment that is the fuel, the force that drives the push that has led to the growth in success of Cult Classic.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Cult Classic began as a dream to share my Landscape photography which I had been shooting for about a decade all across the world. My passion for fashion soon after led me to creature a small apparel line also connected to the brand which is still in the works, however some of the first pieces are already available at Cultclassicshop.com .

One thing that sets Cult Classic apart from other similar businesses is its strong focus on really showcasing the environment and exotic locations around the globe. I want people to step out of the screens that rule us all and really appreciate the world around us. Most art now a days is solely focused in the far out, virality of the moment in time we live in. The work you will find in Cult Classic is designed to stand the test of time, not just Aesthetically but physically.

Just about every print available is done on Lustre paper which in itself can last over 100+ years. Frames are UV protected and sealed to protect the work for even longer. We also offer Metallic paper printed photographs which offer a unique pop of colors to some of our works and will soon be incorporating pearl paper prints as well.

As far as our journey and how we got where we are today, it’s been a big investment and learning lesson. Learning what works, what doesn’t. Finding the most cost-effective way to produce work without Compromising the quality of the work suffer was a big challenge as well. Our current journey involves more getting the brand recognized at a National and Global level. We have began doing Art Fairs in South Florida to a great response from the audience.

I found it a challenge as not just the Founder and owner but the artist behind Cult Classic to share my work publicly. As with most artist we hold on to our work as if it were our child, because in a way it is just that. Thanks to the support of my friends and family I was able to overcome the self- doubt and I can tell you this: There’s nothing like seeing people resonate to your work, that was perhaps the biggest gift I received from our first Art Fair exhibition.

As we move towards the future, I hope to eventually have a studio where we will be able to create more works and continue to develop the brand as well as have a space for visitors to come see some of the works in person. I look forward to what the future will bring and one day aim to as I said earlier be in every home & business. Cult Classic is a legacy brand in the making for countless generations to be inspired by in the present and future.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Without a doubt there’s so much to do in South Florida! One spot I would immediately take them to is Wynwood, Design District. As it’s become one of the cornerstones for the Art world not just in South Florida but the nation. There’s so many great food spots, galleries and culture to take in, it’s Miami’s current “hotspot”.

As the week would progress I would definitely make a quick pit-stop in South Beach, although not a part of town I frequent at anymore, visitors still love to get to know one of South Florida’s most iconic beachfronts. After that i’d continue driving north to Sunny isles which is much more my vibe for a fun day in the sun. We would end that evening by having something tasty in Las Olas Blvd and enjoying the latest movie in the museum of sciences iMax theater which houses the largest screen in Florida.

Continuing the week we would most definitely take a quick trip down to Key West for a day or two and follow that with a quick visit to Dave’s in homestead for some fresh fruit. I’m a sucker for classics so definitely expect me to take them to places like Zoo Miami, our beautiful Botanical Gardens, Vizcaya and definitely Coconut Grove for a fun wine & dine evening.

I would end their trip by exploring some of my favorite museums in Downtown Miami and show them around Brickell. Obviously by then we should have our studio and that’s where the final evening would be spent, giving them a private gallery tour before sending them off to their home.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am extremely grateful to my family, friends and colleagues, without their undying support and belief in my artistry I do not think I would have ever dared to start Cult Classic, let alone begin the journey of doing Art Fairs this year. It is thanks to their support that I found the bravery to share my fine art photography prints with the world. We are all our own worst critics at one point or another and where one see’s beauty, you yourself sometimes may only see the imperfections. I am grateful for their guidance and support in the journey of creating Cult Classic.
