Meet Jose And Gustavo From Cadenza The Group | Jose Meza and Gustavo Sole, creators of the project Cadenza The Group, a Miami based String Duo

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jose And Gustavo From Cadenza The Group and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jose and Gustavo, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting Cadenza The Group stemmed from a desire to create something unique in music. We wanted to blend our passion for classical instruments with contemporary styles such as pop and rock, creating performances that could reach a broader audience. The goal was to offer something fresh and exciting while staying true to our roots in classical (academic) music.
However, we evolved into experimenting more with different genres (EDM, techno). We also saw an opportunity to create more personalized, intimate musical experiences through tailored shows and provide audiences with memorable, high-quality performances that combine traditional classical instruments (if you will) with innovation. This venture allowed us to explore creativity fully while connecting with audiences more profoundly and meaningfully.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Our art is a fusion of classical and contemporary music, built on the foundation of our expertise in classical instruments. What sets Cadenza The Group apart is the integration of the traditional into modern genres like pop and rock. We focus on creating dynamic performances that challenge conventional expectations while making them accessible and exciting for diverse audiences.
We are most proud of the ability to bring fresh perspectives to audiences, breaking down barriers between classical and contemporary music. We are always excited about crafting unique experiences that are technically impressive and deeply personal, inviting our audience to be part of the stories we wish to tell through music.
Our journey to this point has been anything but easy. Like many artists, we faced challenges such as limited opportunities to showcase non-traditional work and the struggle to balance creative integrity with market demand. But through persistence and a constant desire to innovate, we’ve carved out a niche that allows us to explore more in music. Overcoming these challenges taught us the value of patience, adaptability, and trying to stay true to our artistic vision. It’s something that we keep on developing daily.
The biggest lesson we’ve learned is that success is dynamic. It requires constant growth, learning, and being open to new ideas, especially that part. Understanding this project as a brand has helped us to create something meaningful that takes time, and evolving as an artist and a business is okay.
What we want the world to know about Cadenza The Group is that we are not just performers, we are storytellers. Our music bridges different worlds, offering audiences a fresh, engaging, and memorable experience.
We want audiences to engage with what we do. Unlike some who think that music is just’ happening,’ we’re committed to pushing boundaries and sharing the beauty of our art in new, exciting ways.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’d take them straight to the beach—no question about it! Miami’s beaches are unlike any other. They’ll need to know the golden sands and that ocean breeze. After soaking up the sun, we’d head to Café Prima Pasta, a cozy yet lively Italian-Argentinian gem in Miami Beach. Imagine delicious pasta dishes and a great atmosphere—it’s a must. Then, we’d swing by Shoma Bazaar in Doral, a bustling food hall with all the flavors you can imagine. And who knows? There’s a chance we could be performing there, adding live music to the mix! You’ve got to catch Miami in the moment—there’s no better way to experience it!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Big shoutout to our families. They have been fundamental in our process of becoming what we are today. We have been blessed with a supportive environment that always encourages us to fight for what we love to do and to keep giving nothing but the best. Having that is a blessing and a privilege we know not everyone has.
We also have to thank big time everyone who we don’t personally know but who follows us on our social media because it’s pretty fantastic that people who just saw our content would decide to say, “I love what you do, and I want to see what else will you do” with the same love and passion since day one. Those people make Cadenza The Group what we are and keep us trying every day to give nothing but our best.
